  • Friend is trying to raise money for a photographic book on kickstarter.

If you like and you can, put some money into the pot. He's got 12 days to find just under £3,500.

    Forum thread is here.

  • Yay just picked up a GR 1 for 100 quid...
    100 quid I don't have, but at least I have a GR1 again.

If you ever need that 100 quid... :)

  • I have another semi bust one... i think the electrics might of shirted a bit... it was left in a damp bag.
It burns batteries really quickly and instead of taking shots the lens extends massively then retracts and closes...
Not sure if its fixable but if anyone thinks they are up for a repair job...

  • Few questions for those more knowledgeable than me...

Why is this happening? Is it something to do with how they are scanned and developed or is it the film I am using? These were shot on out of date Agfa

I am also having problems with light leak, is there anyway to minimise this?

    CNV00023 by oliverkirman, on Flickr

Overall much prefer the look of the photos shot on superia 200 (the one above).

  • Looks to me like the film has stuck to itself while in the canister then as it wound out it came apart damaging the emulsion, I've shot a lot of agfa vista both in and out of date and not had it happen so I'd say that's just water damage or really bad luck.

The light leak is going to be hard to deal with, it will be easier to replace the camera because it's definitely gotten worse since I shot some rolls through it.

Or because it's the zoom it might pay to shoot a test roll and figure out if any focal lengths leak worse than others.

  • Ah okay thanks man! Will chalk it down to bad luck?
Thinking about it I think you might be right about the light leak being worse at different zooms.
If my next roll comes out with anymore light leak, I will look into something new

  • OM1 XP2 Super 400iso:

Love these btw... so NSF, much street.

  • No idea what's going on there exactly, but that looks sort-of cool!

    : D

  • Aha thanks, trying to get off the roof

  • Actually I meant this "happy accident", as Bob Ross would put it.

  • First roll of Ektar, really really nice film.

  • The shot of the flowers=perfectly flared!

    I love them all though.

  • So many good pictures here. Really motivating thread!
When time allows I have to get scanning.

  • The shot of the flowers=perfectly flared!

Thanks! Was near the end of the roll and I just tried overexposing a bit, didn't know if it would come out or what

  • Finally picked up a sub-£40 Mju ii, gave up scouring charity shops and went to eBay.... It's weatherproofness is coming on a cycle tour to wales I'll post the results....

  • I think I'll buy another as well.
There are other compacts that are definately sharper, but Mju-II advantages are for sure

    • weatherproofness
    • pocketability
...two very good reasons to pay a bit more for them although they are "hyped" a bit much.
  • perfectly flared

    sphere flare <3

  • Yeah that flower shot is daft god. Such emotive. What camera you using?

  • Thanks. These were taken on my Olympus 35SP. Unfortunately there is something wrong with it and it's scratching the shit out film. Photoshops content aware fill tool has been invaluable. Gonna take it to the repair shop tomorrow. Hopefully just needs a clean.

  • Shots are great Phil!

  • Utrecht by furiousfisher, on Flickr Shot in Utrecht Nederlands, on a Pentax ME Super with Portra 400.

  • would anyone be interested in a Pentax ASAHI k1000 with 50mm 1.7 lens? (very good condition) i shot a roll of Portra 160 through it the other week so could supply the most recent shots with it once i've picked them up from the developers tomorrow, it was the first camera i learnt how to shoot film on and it holds a lot of sentimental value but ive been pining over a rangefinder for a while now and have just inherited 2 Praktika SLRs from my granddad so feel it wont get the use it deserves, would be interested in swaps for rangefinders if anyone has anything to offer?

  • heres a shot of it i did a while back, (i'll get newer photos of it if anyones interested) my email is harrisonpalmer@rocketmail.com

Love the colours on this. I was in Utrecht last year, very nice place.

Do not have that same camera (I got a ME), but own the same lens.
The coatings are sooo nice, I can spend quite some time just looking at / in the glass.
