Oooh god knows...they say Waterproof Classic on them.
-
• #4103
Thanks. That'll be the Classic then. I've just looked at the specs again (these were the panniers I was originally considering) and they don't seem so pricey now I've realised its the price for a pair.

You'll be fine, the cheaper panniers have very little adjustment (fore and alf) whether the pricier one allow you to set it as far back as possible.

Cheers.
I was locking my bike today and it occurred to me the bosses for the rack on the wishbone are very close to the canti straddle cable. Am I going to need to swap to a mini V?
I assume a rack is designed for a certain rear spacing would do you need to bend the rack in order to accommodate a 120 mm spaving?
Cheers

Nah, the Tortec's stay curved away from the straddle cable.
Don't worry about the spacing, you just need a bit of effort to push it in enough to screw in the bolt.

My stays do touch the canti yoke but only because they're borked and the rack is bent because it got hit by a (police) car.

Argh, new forks don't come with star nut installed...
-
• #4117
Of course they don't. Forks always* need cutting anyways.

I use one of the compression plugs (I think that's what they're called). It's really easy to install, move from one fork to another and can be used on carbon forks as well. I've got an MPart and Hope one both work equally well.

ive got a weird question but....
I have a pompetamine frame and I cant afford to get a whole new wheelset yet to set it up with disc brakes currently.
Can anyone think of a genius way to mount any type of rear brake on it.
Currently riding fixed so all is good but would sometimes be fun to pop a freewheel on it.

One of these and a few extra jubilee clips should do as a temp solution if you want v or cantis...
