  • I'm on the later shift today, cycled in @10, was glorious, empty roads, and clean(ish) air.
Life's good at times out of London.

  • No one turned up for our afternoon clinic, so I got to go home early in the sun.
    Such a good ride.

  • took out/got taken out by a ped

overtaking a car stopped in traffic, woman steps out from car looking at phone - boom

both busted lips, grazed arms scratched bike

no idea whos fault but my mouth fuckin hurts

  • Shit bud. Not yours, but its what I fear most at the moment, unexpected Pedestrian attack.

  • So many utter bulbs on the way home this evening. Thinking it's ok to swarm around a car who was indicating and about to move out to overtake a stopped bus. Shuffling to the front at every light then shitting themselves when they try and stomp on the pedals only to not realised that shifting at a standstill will not bode well when they try to set off.

  • Welcome to London, rogan!

    :/

  • Shit rogan! I cursed you!!

  • shifting at a standstill

i do this all the time and as expected the bike makes crazy noises but everyone wants to get home quickly

  • Mine is doing the same noises but without the shifting. Awaiting replacement transmission...

  • Half of the month my commute is from Holloway to North Acton, yesterday morning around 8 I was heading up Hampstead road in the bus lane when an HGV begins to pass but then matches my speed so I start to slow down so I can drop behind it, but just as I get to Cardington street the HGV decides to do a sharp left turn then indicate. Luckily I was by the kerb drop and swerved onto the pavement but that's the scariest fucking thing that's ever happened to me whilst cycling in London. I was so happy when I got to Paddington and could get off the road and onto the canal.

  • You should have obeyed the sticker...

  • didn't you read the 'cyclists stay back' sticker? your fault really.

    /i keed

  • Sounds awful. Did you get the plates or company of the HGV. This sounds like a dangerous driver and needs to be reported.

  • I was too busy staying awesome.

I wish I'd have got details but honestly, all I remember is that is was big and blue.

  • dimwit driver overtook me and then decided to pull over in the cycle lane on a red route 10 seconds later to let his son out of the car.

    Quoted for the sticker fans...

Are you feeling ok now? Sounds like the kinda thing that can shake you up a bit.

Sounds like you made a good call with the slowing down and pulling onto the pavement. Maybe ride primary more so the pass never started*?

*I don't know the road so this might not have helped.

  • I daresay people pointing out that he should have obeyed the stickers were being ironic ... :)

  • i was ironically pointing out that you should obey stickers before it was cool.

I hope you kicked the son in the shins and CockPunched™ "driver".

  • To the guy riding up the Old Kent road on his rainbow Raleigh at about 9:20 this morning: Hats off to you for brazenly cycling topless despite not having they body for it. It was pretty hot.

    The weather I mean.

  • I cycle in the primary a lot of the time but this wasn't the issue here as I was in the bus lane (which doesn't ever seen to have many buses in it) and the HGV was in the next lane, so it was a normal traffic flow situation, I only slowed down as it seemed that the HGV slowed as as it got by me and I knew there was a left turn approaching but if I would have carried on normally there's no way I would have avoided it

  • I hope you kicked the son in the shins and CockPunched™ "driver".
nah, i was too busy staying awesome.

  • Hipster spice route last night... my god, such bad cycling, so many bad tattoos.

  • Elves on the tattoo thread?
