Again, I enjoyed that immensely. I would like to book the stage 2 accreditation straight away.
Do we need to wait for any confirmation/certificate from Sunday or are we good to just book it now?
I filled out a form at the reception desk to register as a member of Lee Valley - then got a follow up email confirming my membership - took the receptionist a little chasing up with Rob to get our sign on sheet, but she confirmed my Stage 1 accreditation by the end of the day. Suspect you might need to do the same.
If it helps, person I dealt with was "Hassan, Georgina" GHassan@leevalleypark.org.uk
Separately, many thanks to David for the organisation. Great session and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am in some pain.
Oh well, I knew I would be. Sciatica is a bitch and I'm not back to full health yet, my right leg and lower back are now giving me gyp and I'll be spending the week swimming more frequently to help the symptoms.
Loved every minute of it though, was worth it.

Possibly, waiting for a reply from my email to Lee Valley. I had already registered with them so it shouldn't be hard for them to tick the level 1 box for me.

that was great fun... want to do that again
Thanks

What Twizit said. AFAIK you need to become a LVVP member and once done RPM will need to record that you passed stage 1. Once that is done Level 2 will appear on your dashboard as a session to book.

My advise would to phone up as it more direct than the horrible website they set up. (but sometime you need to wait on the other side a while due to only one person answering the phone)

I emailed them and I got a response back and am now able to book stage 2 should I so wish to.
I am accredited as I did it at Newport but it was a while ago and I lost the proof. I don't mind doing a few of these sessions anyhow as I am a little rusty after 3 years off the track -

Yeah. I think the old accreditation process at other velodromes is defunct as this new nationwide accreditation process is the new norm.
I enjoyed my accreditation sessions, although riding with riders you don't know on the track can be a little scary if you're not sure of their skill or experience level.
I had my first SQT session last night with Ho and it was loads of fun. Different from the HH intermediate sessions due to it being split into different exercises with some small breaks put in instead of just constantly rolling around HH with one break.
If you enjoyed your experience I recommend sticking with it for at least the accreditation process and see how you feel doing a proper structured training session. :)

They are at odd times these sessions though aren't they. Almost like you have to book time off work to ride there?
I have contacted Newport and asked them to send me proof in the meantime so I can take part in these sessions -

Please keep your eyes open for my Canyon V-Drome track bike with Plan X wheels. Was stolen from inside my car last Thursday in Aldgate East. It had planet x wheels and dura ace chainset. THANK YOU

Meh - Stage 2 seems to be only Mon/Tues during the day.
Will have to wait for LFGSSCC track day 2.

I have contacted Newport and asked them to send me proof in the meantime so I can take part in these sessionsI did all my sessions after work hours (usually 7-8pm sessions). I guess these times fill up quicker though. It's worth ringing up (and staying on hold) to see if there are any spots free at sessions closer to the time as there are sometimes cancellations.
I still don't think the coaches will let you use a 3 year old Newport accreditation to skip past the new accreditation process I'm afraid. I'm sure RPM can confirm or deny this though.

Yeah maybe I will give them a ring. I spoke to Rob about it and as he was in the group I did it with at Newport he knows I was there and also that is is exactly the same as what they do at Lee Valley :) So I should be fine after a couple of sessions. I dont mind doing the whole thing again to be honest as I can expense all this stuff to work and any excuse to get on track

this... and sprint revenge with proper shoes

Still slightly shaken by slipping. If I get my arse down there again I think I'd like stickier tyres or something. Or just ride it as instructed, as in no slowing on the turn...
I should say if I haven't already just how great a coach Rob was with us.

Aaah, the old 'shoe' excuse!
-
• #473
Actually shoes fucked me up. But that's sciatica for you. My shoes have enormous wedges inside them to shift the cleat to angle so my knees act like hinges rather than ball joints.
Will definitely do it again, but will also ensure I can use my own shoes so I have my inserts.

Just as an update, I emailed Georgina, after Twizit's post, and have had membership and Stage 1 box ticked all sorted today. Which is a nice bonus as it was entirely painless :)

Booked the next available session for level 2 - 11 Aug 2014 3.45pm. I emailed Georgina and she modified my account for level 1 quick smart.
