It is looking a bit too easy for Nibbles. Questions will be asked.

It's looking easy because he's not racing against Froome and Contador.

It's the 'too good to be true' thing i guess : yes, it looked too easy; he's been on shit form all year to the point of being publicly criticised by his team; I don't remember ever seeign him ride anything like this well, in the past he's been completely unable to stand up to Sky's attacks, today it looked as though he could have taken Wiggins AND Froome to bits without sweating.
bit odd.
Oh, and he's Italian.

What would be worse - him being busted or Valverde inheriting the victory? And you wouldn't put it past Valverde actually to accept it.

Tony Martin's blog post after the win:
It's looking easy because he's not racing against Froome and Contador.
And that.

Just finished watching the highlights. I didn't think my estimation of Valverde could sink any lower, but what a balding wheel-sucking doping bag of shit he is.
Pity about Porte, who I rather like because he always seems cheerful and honest about things, but frankly given his form all season it's hardly surprising.

This. He came prepared to hang with the big boys and ended up racing their super doms, some pretenders and all the French kids.

Interesting point on the Telegraph podcast about Nibali and the fact he hasn't been quizzed about doping like Froome was.
They conclude that his career has had a fairly steady trajectory and he didn't come out if nowhere like Froome. Plus he was vocally anti-doping as a neo pro apparently.
Shame we'll never know how he'd have done against some genuine contenders.
Is Quintana doing the Vuelta?

pftt, is Quintana doing the Vuelta.
Quintana's already ordered a child-sized tuxedo for the winner's party.

I'm always reminded of the below article when I think about Nibali and possible doping.

It's easy to lie, but I've always been drawn to believe that it's the truth. -

Maybe a purple jacket?

on a day when it was 40 degrees in the valleys, and 30 at the summits, to finish first without even perspiring makes me think his blood has been in the fridge overnight

Do the pros not worry about HR at all? Didnt see any straps today?
-
• #3792
Not when they're all running power meters, no.
-
• #3793
I've seen lots of them wearing hr straps (though haven't seen today's highlights yet so I could be wrong and no one wore them today).
If only there was a reliable and informative cycling blog I could call on for these sorts of insights.

Is it just me, or does Porte look even more like Mr. Potato Head than usual in that photo?

Did we watch the same race? The sweat was pouring off of them.

Froome demands that everyone be photoshopped to make him look normal.

It's part of his contract apparently.
As we can see, it's needed.

what a character, eh? You just don't know what crazy, amusing thing he'll do next.
