The Specialized is only a 3D render rather than a production mode, look awesome still.

just bought an old 531, lugged, dawes mtb for a bit of a functional project. trying to find some high riser bars for it, 50mm plus, and 1" clamp. any ideas that wont break the bank? surprising hard to find. there was some good looking ones from Wald but only available in the US.

Gusset Open Prison 2's have around a 2" rise on them, as for clamp, they actually do them in 22.2 but come with a shim for 1".

thanks man, nice bars, come in 3" as well which would be tempting but £40 is a bit steep for me. trying to keep it cheep. functional beater is the order of the day.

You can find them on eBay for under a tenner sometimes, just have to strike it lucky. Why not just have a slightly taller stem to compensate for what I imagine is a tiny headtube.

Got a new commuter... a "very early" Trice, which pre-dates their use of model names or serial numbers.

How is it?

Keep close tabs on your knees - if you have any predilection for issues there, a recumbent with a high bottom bracket like the Trice will bring them to the fore.

Surprisingly slow. Pulls left a bit and I think the camber needs setting properly as it's twitchy for small inputs but heavy for actual cornering. I'm also getting quite a lot of "power-snake"...
Euph?

I could feel my calves and the knee-end of my thigh-front muscles doing a lot of work but as I was using my MTB shoes in toeclips (and I have giant flippers) I had the pedal axle just in front of the ball of my foot rather than just behind.
No history of knee trouble but it sounds like something I'd seek to avoid!

Yep, I think it's the gravity thing requiring different muscles that might be responsible.
