It's extremely hard to intervene in a way that other road users can respond positively. Calling out, the question at the heart of this thread, seems to entrench rather than enlighten.
Slight dredge - I've always found that if a random stranger with no authority starts having a go at me for something, my instinct is to get defensive.
After that, it'll be stuck on my mind, obsessing over that arse who do they think they are blah de blah. After a while I might realise they were right.
Important thing is it made me think about it.
Keep calling them out. They may tell you to fuck off, but they'll think about it, and maybe they won't do that again.
