• Watching lardboy race at Bethlem last summer was one of the highlights of my season, as you could see he was having a blast!

    Did they include the drop off at the far end of the track where you have to do a sharp left to avoid the railway embankment wall? I've raced that dozens of times and still can't get the hang of it.

    What gave you the fear, hats?

    One of the best lessons I learnt early on in my cross career was a) to invest in decent tyres (Michelin Mud IIs are a great all rounder) and b) to drop the pressure as much as you can (I'll run them around 35 psi). I think a lot of people start with really high pressures in their tyres and then you get no grip whatsoever.
