  • ^ what happened was manager cross with you or understanding? Don't be hard on yourself.

  • Amazing commute in this morning, glorious sunshine and roads totally dead.

  • i left the house at 6:40 and the roads were as busy as if it were 7:30. fuck off and have a lie in you cunts it used to be dead at that time on my way in.

  • Lovely commute this morning

No traffic. many green lights. Wow

  • hippy: Get plates and report driver.

I missed the plates. I think I was overwhelmed by disbelief. I was lucky that the road they were turning in to was clear so i had an escape route. I think she may still not have realised what happened. Probably thought I just turned in front of her and stopped in the middle of the road. Completely oblivious.

    No wreckage. Anger checkage.

  • From the "I confess" thread (http://www.lfgss.com/thread10167-77.html#post4308196) about A-road bashing:-

Greenbank, you are one brave man. would love to see your heatmap pics in "this morning and other commuting stories thread."

Finally got off my arse to do it:

Most of it is there, a few bits missing (mostly 10 or so blats up to Cambridge and back from London). Obviously don't have GPS logs of cycling holidays I did 20 years ago.

Most of it was on fixed, two exceptions were the ride in the Peak District (http://www.strava.com/activities/162788637) and the ones down/in Cornwall (London to Honiton, and the Kernow & SouthWest 600[1]).

Stopped doing the really silly Audax distances when MiniGB was born, just tend to do local 100/200km rides now.

  • spotted Unicorn bike this morning!
Bloke on a road bike with a Go pro on a stick mounted on the front reaching out about 2 feet at a sticky up angle, like a unicorns horn, he also had a go pro on his helmet and mirrors, think it may have been the Cycling warrior who was on the TV who pulls up drivers and cyclist alike. Unicorn Bike looked kinda dangerous!

  • traffic droid. he's a bit of an institution. more power to him.

  • I spotted Extremely High Stack Courier Guy the other day in the lifts at Greenwich. Apparently he had back surgery not too long ago so that's the reason for the crazy height. Said he might lower it a spacer at a time.

In other more depressing stories I almost got taken out four times in 20 seconds, but unfortunately for the last offender his was the least egregarious move but received all my abuse from the three previous incidents. Poor form by me. I'm sorry for my overreaction (and wanking motion directed your way) whoever you are but I can only take so many dick moves in a row before I lash out.

    : (

  • Heading north on Lansdowne Crescent. The road narrows due to traffic islands - oncoming traffic is on a give way.

I see a trade van coming in the other direction and take primary so it is clear that we'll have a head-on if he continues. He ignores the give way and blasts through. I move to the side and raise my hand in question. Get a 'FUCK OFF CUNT' in reply.

    Much anger for 6:30am.

  • Do get the feeling the TDF pissed a few car and van drivers off yesterday. Much anger out there this morning.

  • Took the direct way from University to work today. Long downhill section, spinning like crazy on 46/17 on a bumpy road. Not much fun had. My bike sounds bad, lots of rattling noises coming from the front wheel (?) and BB area...

  • Sprinted up Stamford Hill from Seven Sisters in TOP GEAR this morning, someone touch me!

  • Today was beautiful, but a day of food poisoning meant that I enjoyed none of it.
Still, beat the inevitable rain home...
Need to change my tyres too, too much skidding going on for my liking.

  • Good old tube today and a miserable morning on the H&C to Bromley by Bow. Not one person smiled. Cheer up you miserable lot!

  • yesterday I was riding south on st pancras way (between camden road and agar grove) along a bike lane painted on the road. Up ahead I saw a figure on a mobility scooter in the bike lane with umbrella up. Then I realised she was driving straight at me! crazy. salmon mobi scooter!!!

  • Mobility Jousting.

  • There's a shopmobility scooter repair shop on Pratt street where a lot of these menaces congregate.

    Mousting.

  • Not one person smiled. Cheer up you miserable lot!

    give us a reason

  • This morning, pedalling down Clarence Avenue in Clapham. The road is fairly wide, fairly green, fairly empty. There is a grass verge at the side.

On the verge was a man in his early thirties. He was wearing speedos, and a vest. There was either a towel or what may have been his trousers, about his ankles/on the floor. He was doing what was describable as something between a pretty unenthusiastic but very camp dance, a workout routine and a kind of ‘come on’ to the passing traffic (of which there was very little).

  • So many out in fluro nodder jackets today, unlike me who wore this flouro retro short sleeve jersey LIKE THE HTFU LUFGUSS HIPST0R I AM

  • Yeah, I'm a bit soaked.
