Great shot.

They really should close all of the roads all of the time to all of the cars.
good plan
'You Brits' made these the 3 greatest foreign stages of the TdF ever! absolutely wonderful to see such enthusiastic crowds all along the roads. they say NL is a cycling country but I don't think we'll ever see the likes of this over here. and it made me want to visit Yorkshire again asap (in sunshine, that is).

Epic to see the TDF coming through to Beckton, got sun and heavy rain in the same period! But worth the wait! They're so quick, blink and they're gone! Good that I got a video and still of the day shame it was a little off centre but that's my OCD side things! Happy days nevertheless! Glad I took the day off for this now!!!

^^that's what ralph steadman would draw if he had to describe the tdf instead of the mint 400 :)
Good job!

did anyone get a side view of today's sprint? I only saw it from the front on TV. was Sagan really 2 seconds down from Kittel?

Forum representing near the front :-)
That was me. Stood there for 1.5 hours when there was no-one else around hardly. Good spot though! Rode to Green Park on the course, with added spectator hazards for good measure.

He was a bike length behind but was, I think, given the same time, as were the rest who were another bike length back on Sagan.

In this picture please note the puzzled expression of team OPQS trying to make out the mostly worn away COME ON TIM I very cleverly wrote on the road yesterday night.
I like to think they had a little chortle to themselves at my good joke.

My uncle works for them since the Mapei times, this time they were coming to London so I couldn't miss the chance ;)

Introduced the 5-month old to some bike racing. He was amused by Boardman's Segway adventures.

Best bit final few seconds. "Is that it?"

Ended up wandering to Whipps Cross roundabout where someone had kindly put a big screen. Was right at the front, they're bloody fast.
Managed to get a few pictures through just holding down the shutter in continuous mode and pointing the camera in generally the right direction whilst I watched.

would like to see the Tour De France people go-green (similar to the F1 focus on fuel efficiency) via changing the rules to prevent any non-steel-is-real entrants..
.. then they might go slow enough to actually see when standing by the side of the road, :-)

Wait - who stealth altered the thread title? The cadaver of the Brit leg isn't even cold yet!

Managed to get out in time and scramble up to Epping New Road from school in Chingford to watch it.
The atmosphere was great, all the van drivers who normally shout at me to get out of the road were lining up and cheering everyone on instead.
