• The Woodford Cricket Club have opened their doors to allow a bike event to take place on the 7th July. We are going to have, cycle jumble, large screen, food stalls, and of course a bar. The club is 10ft away from the race, perfect to see all the action. We have room for a couple of more jumble tables, if anyone wants to set up, give me a shout. 07771908888

  • Did I mention a Bar?

  • The oldest bike to be shown on the day will be a Singer Trike c1898.
Plus an NOS Tomassini with full record kit c1980s, never been on the road.

  • Wot, in Cheshire?

    Or Down Under?

You must mean the Woodford Green Cricket Club. :)

Surprising how many cricket clubs there are with Woodford in their name.

  • It certainly sounds like a great place to be on the day.

  • As always Oliver, you are correct. It is indeed the Woodford GREEN Cricket club.

  • we have Hilly Ben and Lucien from Skinny Eric's doing a jumble. Also a possible Veteran Cycle Club table

  • This is pretty cool, what capacity do you have? wondering in case I need to arrange something, id like to come down.

  • Sounds great this!

  • The cricket pitch and green are very large, it could easily support a thousand plus bikes. But they all wouldn't fit in the club house. The railings against the race route, is about 200yds, so plenty of room for all.

  • if anyone's interested in riding this stage, I'm organising a ride of it backwards on 1st June (London to Cambridge), full details here http://www.lfgss.com/thread126848.html

  • Peter from London Bike Kitchen is also doing a Jumble Stall

  • Nice! Might have to get the day off and cycle down....

  • Luv Handles from Wandsworth, will be displaying some lovely bikes.

  • www.roadrags.cc will be having a sample sale on the day

  • George from Full City is our last and final jumble table. A good selection of jumble for the day. Testing the Big Screen next week, last thing we want is not to be able to view the race.

  • I was around there today; lovely place! Will try and make it on the day.

  • Nice to see so many from the forum, at the Nocturne, on Saturday

  • Ohh!!

  • Day off work now booked. Weather permitting, I'll be cycling there on a tandem.

It sounds like a great day out!

  • The Corporation of London have seen in their wisdom to charge a licence fee for our event on Monday. With VAT they want to charge £180 for each and every stall. I mentioned that if I wanted to charge the Jumblers £15 each, I'd be told to "Fuck off". His advice was to go to the local pub, and watch it. So I've decided to cancel all the stalls. The big screen and bar will still be available, you just need to pack a picnic bag. The Fundamental part of watching Le Tour on screen and in the flesh, will still happen.

  • Shame, I take it the land is Corporation-owned? The venue is still very good. I'm sure you'll get a good turnout.

  • I meant to ask this the other day - didn't want it to look like I was stalking Oliver by posting after him in different threads, so,

Is the club on some kind of hill or rise? I remember watching the tour on the champs elysees (i.e. on a gentle rise) a few years ago and it was just a blur.
