That four lane junction is absolute chaos, and pretty hairy even when driving a car. People constantly going too fast/changing lanes without indicating etc. I assume the HGV was turning left up towards Sneinton.
In fact, the route through that side of the city from the top of Mansfield Rd down to near Hooters can be pretty terrifying on a bike, try my best to avoid it.
