  • cool cool, thanks a lot, it ends up being pretty insightful, i might have dreams of continuous shifting pretty soon

  • ...simultaneously changing down gear and braking coming into a hairpin on a fast descent.

    That too.

I actually love the ability to shift up fully independent of the brake on busy descents, when you're picking up speed.

  • Internal cable routing, no?

  • Magnets

  • The cables from the control box are all leccy taped to the rear brake cable, can't see it because its all NDS but there must be a single entry to the frame (or the holes are very close together) internal wiring system. Bit of a ballache and some very tidy wrenching basically...

  • But once it's done, it's done - generally for the life of the frame.

  • Oleg Tinkov reviews groupsets.

First ever pave ride in my life, Arenberg was fun.I kinda like it, pity that our boys keep dropping me every section :-) .All great but SRAM

I HAD TO USE MY LAST YEAR BIKE HERE IN FRANCE, BUT #SRAM IS REAL SRAM. IN RUSSIAN SRAM MEANS SHAME BY THE WAY.

Have biked today on hilly South France roads. . After automatic Shimano that I just used to, what a POOR quality of @SRAMracing components.

  • Until one of the internal sleeves comes loose and a ferrule drops into your frame, turning it into a really expensive percussion instrument....

  • Lol @ tinkoff. Aren't SRAM sponsoring them?

  • Yes. But it's known his own ST bike has dura ace on it, not sponsord sram.

I'm pretty sure they're changing bike/component sponsor next year too.

he probabely have not heard what sram means in polish...

  • yeah. no sram for Saxo next year then

  • Dunno why everyone gets so hung up on groupset choice. They all work, so if you have a problem then its either badly set up, or user error.
Humans have evolved more than any other creature on earth, I'm sure we can all cope with pushing a lever in a slightly different way...

  • Sorry Dan, which should I buy?

Am practically a gorilla, lack of opposable thumbs means campagno-no.

  • When is the 105 hydraulic disc brake stuff coming out and how much pricier than mechanical might it be?

  • Sorry Dan, which should I buy?

    Whichever is most expensive, obviously

  • ^^ Deets here: http://www.bikerumor.com/2014/03/31/shimanos-all-new-11-speed-105-5800-group-plus-new-mechanical-hydraulic-road-disc-brakes/

Chainreaction keeps pushing the date on 5800 which is now at 18th aug; I have 2 friends waiting for that groupset to build bikes ..

  • I'm sure they'll have much more fun this summer refreshing browser pages than they would have had riding those bikes with groupsets which were actually available...

  • ^^ They dont have bikes ..

  • Quite...

  • Thats the Di2 shifters
