Just watched Particle Fever, awesome doc about the LHC at CERN... Bit of an old story now but a great watch... I heart science...

Incidentally, I hope more people have re-appraised Alien 3, it's brilliant.

The Alien 3 assembly cut is supposed to be very good, or so people tell me. I have seen it, but I may have been differently sober at the time so all I could tell you about it is that it is quite a similar film to Alien 3. Which is unsurprising really.

i've heard of that cut. Seems the producers sliced off massive amounts of plot for the sake of a more box-office friendly running time. It also explains why DF flounced from the film midway through the editing process.

i find A3 a far better re-watch than aliens, which is at its heart a very good war movie, but little else.

i shall see if i can 'purchase' it tonight.

I'm currently nerding out watching some CERN produced videos detailing how the detectors were fabricated... Fascinating... Really...

If you like that, you might like the James Webb telescope videos. Especially how the mirrors are made. Crazy shite right there, including how overall, the thing itself looks like a giant planet annihilating laser gun!
