In April I was hit by a car cycling from uni, my frame was buckled and a few other parts were damaged. I took it to a bike shop who totted up the price to fix it as £1100. Kindly the driver offered to pay the full amount, and so I gave the OK for the bike shop to fix it.
I recently picked my baby up, and noticed that the rear mudguard(SKS Chromoplastic) had been sawn off 2.5inches and was being held in place with a cable tie, when it had previously been screwed into the bottom bracket. This is obviously irritating as not only will it mean that I have to clean my cranks/drive chain more in the winter months, which is the reason I shelled out for full length mudguards in the first place, but also because I was not consulted on the decision. I can understand that it is still usable, and is a fix that I would possibly use at home, but it is not what I would expect from a £1100+ job. The bicycle shop says that they had to as they couldn't remove the screw fixing it in place, they also said "you didn't seem keen on replacing many broken parts, so we left it".
Am I being unreasonably annoyed or would you also be miffed?

Thanks in advance!
