  • Elite Custom Race all the way. I have Elite Ciussi Inox and Tacx Taos on other bikes because they suit the builds but they are both shit. Custom Race cages are cheap, light, hold bottles well, don't wreck them and most importantly for me, they are nice and easy to get bottles in and out. Hate being at that point in a ride where you're literally running on fumes and then trying to faff around getting a bottle back in an awkward cage.

  • Looks good. Light blue highlights & Pro stem - very Team Sky.

If the shoe fits, wear it.

  • now with vo zeppelin fenders, new bag and pump painted to match the frame

  • I've broken my 4th of these now and I need something to go in their place. They're a shit design anyway. They only fit the supplied, low quality bolts which work themselves loose. The heads of the bolts also sit too proud, marking bottles.

King Ti are nice but too pricey, stainless nice but too heavy.

Cheap alloy cages work pretty well but tend to mess bottles up very quickly so I'm looking at things like the resin Elites (below).

    Any thoughts and/or recommendations?

I have the elite ones on my cervelo. Probably the best fitting bottle cages I have ever used, they never drop bidons, even if you don't quite push them in properly. Cheap too.

Not the sexiest things ever made, but quite how people justify spending £££ on stuff like that I will never know (money > sense, I guess..).

  • ^^ looks fantastic

  • Great bike erick! Is that an Ultegra 6700 triple crank? Looks good.

    ^ Rep'd.

  • ^^ No hi-viz? No helmets? I bet half of them don't even Strava!

  • Great bike erick! Is that an Ultegra 6700 triple crank? Looks good.

    says dura ace innit?!

looks like a 7700 triple to me..

edit: it's 7703 apparently. but sexay indeed..

  • Dont really post in here too often, but thought this is pretty relevent to the forum.

Just bought what I am led to believe is 50/14's old HED R1C frame on ebay.... I think the seller is John pigfarmer.... so it all ties in, as he took in a lot of Pauls bikes after he passed away.

Paul had it built up as an OTT TT bike, and used it for going to the pub.
I'm going to put my Chorus 11 speed bits I have sat around doing nothing on it, and bring it back to life.

  • 64 c-t aende, thinking DIY disc on rear? Any ideas?

    DSCF1965 by Laurie_a1, on Flickr

  • yes, geared?

  • Yeah of course!

  • All set (minus the frame).

  • Yeah its the triple dura ace

  • Putted on -17 degree stem and old Flite as the new one started creaking.

  • Loved it! especially the paintjob.

  • I like the Zipp/HED/ENVE/Mavics

  • What seatpost in that? look much smarter than the Thomson.

  • seatpost is china FSA without decals. I know many consider it dangerous, but it's on a fixed gear bike, not on a MTB so I am not worried.

  • the frame's a mielec? paintjob is radddd
