Looks alright to me. I'm after a similar(ish) frame albeit more modern.
Trouble with old MTBs like this is that very few people seem to be after them. Anyone wanting to build their own MTB almost certainly wants something very retro / original / no dings in frame, or something newer. Most people wanting a budget MTB will buy new.
I am slightly tempted to make an offer, but I don't think it would tempt OP.

^ You're not much wrong there Jeez. Feel free to PM me your offer if you like, you never know...

It is a bit retro, but not much different from the current version of the frame. With a bit of spending you could easily build up something like this: http://www.lfgss.com/post4222200-5987.html
It has disk tabs front and rear. It can also take up to 130mm fork if you wanted to upgrade that.

Funnily enough that is pretty much exactly what my next 26er move is likely to be. Im you were selling frame only I may be more tempted.
Obviously there are things that could be done (eg disc brakes) but I bet its a really nice ride.

I might consider frame only if that was the only offer. It's still a great ride as is, but if you wanted to modernise it a bit, the wheels and discs here would be a good match: http://www.lfgss.com/thread126804.html

Seriously, you're all spoilt by modern things......this is Columbus nivacrom! Same as top end konas from back in the day....
I know....I'm a fucking Luddite, what can I say..... -

Great spec at a great price.
Some of the parts take me back to my MBUK obsessed youth.

re what Jeez said: further to the splitting possibilities, It's possible I could have some interest in the group ... shifters/mechs/cranks/bb/cassette, pending price ... Maybe the other raceface and Avid bits too.
Lovely bike btw.

On ebay now. If anyone's interested PM me and I'll take it off. Otherwise, thread closed.
Hello,
I have finally decided to release my old mtb after years of being locked up in my parents shed unused. It is a 2002 Cove Handjob XC (you'll have to excuse the name). I've had this from new, but have hardly touched it in the past 5 years. I upgraded quite a lot of the parts in 2009, new wheels and full XT drivetrain, which are still nearly as new. Spec as follows:
17.5" frame Columbus Nivacrom tubing
Marzocchi MXC 100mm forks with ECC lockout
FSA XLII headset (new bearings fitted)
XT drivetrain except for Raceface Prodigy crankset (upgraded chainrings)
Avid V-brakes
Raceface finishing kit - bars, stem and seatpost
Flite saddle
Wheels: XT hubs with DT Swiss rims
Panaracer Razor 2.1 tyres
Crank brothers pedals
I can also include:
Fork pump and manual
Camelbak
Northwave shoes with cleats (size 45)
The bike is in Devon, but I might be able to arrange for it to come to London (where I am) if there was sufficient demand.
One bad point is a small dent midway along the top tube. Cosmetically it doesn't look very nice but structurally it is fine. Most of all the other bits are near perfect as they have seen little use. I'm afraid I removed the Handjob decal, but you can get hold of them if you don't mind displaying it's name. Might help hide the dent also...
