Sounds good. Work commitments withstanding should be able to make it.

This ride should be perfect for fixed gear given that the organiser only rides fixed:

P.s. that photo wasn't taken on the route...

Would love to do this...

Looks great. Have you got a max number of riders in mind?

This will close at 200 and should be well subscribed.

I don't think we had really considered the scenario that there would be hundreds of riders - Were you asking to clarfiy that you would be able to enter nearer the time without it oversubscribing?
I reckon the main limitation would be around how many people wearing lycra Justin can fit in his house...
There is also officially no limit to how much booze you can consume post ride...

sounds good.

Bumping this thread as the date is getting closer! Entry closes two weeks prior to the event, so you have another week or two to enter if you fancy riding!

Tempted, is there an elevation profile anywhere?

I'm 15 and I was wondering if there is a age limit on this ride?

Grrr , got Ride London the next day...

There isn't as far as I'm aware, though I can tell you from having ridden around Essex previously that it will be basically pan flat with the occasional minor incline/decline...

Hello,
Thats a good question though I actually have no idea as to the answer...
I'll send Justin an email and post the response back here...

The time limits, and inclusion of the BBQ at the end mean that this is going to be a pretty social ride, so could you possibly ride both?

Hello,
I heard back, but unfortunatley Audax UK rules would not allow anyone under the age of 18 to enter this particular event!
Don't let that put you off Audaxing though as there are plenty of other events that you can do with an accompanying adult, or possibly with some form of parental consent, but it would be worth contacting the different organisers prior to entering to just clarify the situation with them!

Not sure that's true. Audax rules don't forbid under 18s.
In general for Audaxes, riders under 18 can enter but this requires signed parental consent on the entry form[1] and is at the organisers discretion.

Sorry, maybe I could have worded that better - I was simply meaning that for this specific ride the organiser was not accepting entries from under 18's, as opposed to making a general rule about Audax UK's rules!
As I'd tried to convey in the second paragraph, plenty of rides do, so not to be put off!

Right, this is it, the flagship Audax Club Hackney event for 2014, a 200km Audax from Harringay (Audax Club Hackney HQ is currently situated in Harringay - you could always add an impromtu prologue from Hackney Town Hall if you wanted) out to Cambridge and back.
Entry is here: http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/12-349/#more
Paraphrasing the actual event details - "...Cafe control at Ickleton, a control at Corpus Christi University Cambridge and rhen another cafe control at Puckeridge... then back for an all inclusive Audax Club Hackney barbeque at ACH HQ (I assume this means Justins house)... Seasonal menu is based upon the local Turkish styles which are typical of this particular part of North London. Items on offer will include freshly dressed salads, Turkish bread, rice and bulgar wheat with lamb/chicken/Falafal kebabs as well as the normal barbecue offerings. And also... wait for it... free beer tokens for The Stags Head pub. Join us to help make this ride the perfect way to wind down after a busy season...
So there it is, 200km from London to Cambridge and back again, ending with a BBQ and the pub, and if it rains, a BBQ and the pub.
I should point out, the cost is higher than a number of typical Audaxs, but the cost with this one is higher because it includes food at the end and of course, booze... it'll be worth the money!
If anyone has any questions then let me know, otherwise, get an entry in and I'll see you on the start line!
