Interestingly, despite never having experienced bike theft firsthand, it is something that constantly regulates and influences my behaviours in terms of locking the bike up.
Living in Brighton, it's at the forefront of my mind, and I try to avoid locking up in town if I'm leaving the bike for any longer than 10 minutes (i.e. if I have shopping to do, I'll walk to town rather than cycle, which seems a shame)
