Ooh snap. Allotment bike in it's natural habitat.
In desperate need of cutting down the legs on the basket, or buying the adjustable ones, any information on where to buy adjustable wald legs would be gratefully received.
Dom and I modded the stays for Pop's bike:
We measured the stays, used a hammer a block to flatten out the area to be drilled. Then used a hammer and a drift to mark the hole, then drilled it out.
As you can see if gave a beautifully flat rack

then you can cut the excess off with a decent pair of snips as they're made of cheese

i've done the same on every rack. then built an additional strut which connects from the rack to the brake hole on the fork, making for completely rock solid set up... i don't think you have that option though with that fork.

Yeah, the u brake meant to brake hole support

Cheers. Hammering, drilling and cutting was roughly the plan, just need to get the bike home and pluck up the courage to start hitting it with hammers.
I’ll investigate an additional support as it’s wobbly as hell at the moment. Shorter legs should help but a bit of extra stability when loaded with courgettes and rhubarb would be nice.

Where'd that HTFU decal come from, Indra? And will it stay intact during torrential downpour?

^ Big difference between brown packing tape and gaffer tape. Gaffer tape is doing it properly, anything less doesn't cut it. O_O
-
• #9796
That was never gaffer tape on that plane. It was the big ass industrial adhesive crap made from aluminium. You could put a car together with that stuff.

too much riser bars on this page !

^^ You mean ducting tape. And yes, you can put a car together with it. A mate kept half a mini together like that for a while, worked fine. (csb)
