Sold most of my Nikon kit (only laziness that has stopped me selling the rest) and have an X Pro-1 and an X100s. They're great. I just want a portrait and a super-wide prime and I think I'm set for as long as they last at that point.

^^^Thanks, they're back!
Went to sports day today with my Mum's camera; forgot how tiny it felt with the 40mm pancake on it.

x-e2 with latest firmware is very near the same spec as the x-t1 without weather sealing and not quite such good focus tracking. It's a lovely camera; I've stopped shooting RAW now I have live view exposure at my eye and such lovely jpeg colour rendition. Bought mine from Panamoz with 18-55mm (which is a high-quality kit lens) for something silly like £750. Sold a Nikon D700 to get it. Do I miss the D700? Yes I do. If you shoot anything which moves at a reasonable pace and you're used to a top spec DSLR, you will be disappointed in the Fuji bodies - initially at least. That said, I have adapted to it and it has made me a more considered photographer. I love using old MF primes with it.
But the camera I grab most of the time is my X100 (original one) whose files just have something. Just so portable and so nice to shoot with. Set and forget. All I ever do is ride the exposure comp dial.

Y'all should post more pictures of your Fuji's.

So, Fuji pix. As i have mentioned before, I'm in a rut so these are fairly humdrum street shots. Mostly straight out of camera, I've slightly upped the contrast or straightened two of them.

You clearly have an amped definition of humdrum.
Nice set. -

Thanks! Really. Maybe I've gotten tunnel vision a bit. All I could see is the sea of crap that I sifted those out from, which made me feel bad. Nice to know that the few good ones actually kinda work. Maybe my rut is just me being too hard on myself...

I find that good pics within a set (not necessarily related to each other) tend to compliment and magnify each other.
Also, give it a few months and come back to these, maybe they'll sparkle a little more for you. -

Interesting..
..so this is shot with the Xpro1 and 35/1.4 ?
It's an interesting picture to begin with, and I really like the light / the way the colours are renderered.
If you just upped the contrast a bit I'm reasoning that it's the camera that does this, and it does this really well in light like this I think.
Nice. -

Just had a play. Right click and the selection of setting are there, maybe one had been hidden?
Alas wifi cards are unreliable and slow. Plus I don't think they can wire to phones (maybe wrong).
I use a micro sd with a converter to normal sd card in my grd3, so I can just pull the micro sd out of the camera and put it into my phone.
Still a bit of a chore though
Edit: not that that's any use since you have an iPhone, whoops :/ -

This would benefit from being punchier, the whites are too grey

Just picked up the 35mm equivalent for my x-e1. Really looking forward to shoot with my favourite focal length. Been either too tight with the 50, or too wide with the 28 which really bugs me. Both are nice for portraits / landscapes, but for everything in between, nothing beats 35
Got the lens yesterday. It's massive, filters are 62mm. Might pick up some kind of extra grip for it, though my case helps a bit. Either way, the lens is of course fantastic.

It would seem that lens is a super performer. Olympus has nice glass too, but that one is a fast marvel.

Couple of star trail attempts, would like to try these again with something decent in the foreground..

Thanks Spotter, I gave it a try but wasn't really sure how far to push it. I kept losing detail in the shirt and that sort of annoyed me. Should have shot raw I guess.

Nice.Yeah, the Fujis deal with complex light really well. That's why I decided I was happy to abandon all my Nikon stuff - I don't shoot sports, I shoot odd street stuff at random times of day. This is the original straight of camera shot, it's only minutely different -

I'm just hoping by the time Fuji shutters develop beyond point, wait, click. Their light meters stay the same or similar. Such balanced colours.

The shutters are much better than they were after all the firmware upgrades. If you could countenance shooting a Leica or other manual camera, you can deal with a Fuji. But yeah, a new Nikon DSLR will knock any Fuji into a cocked hat for autofocus speed. But people have never yelled random abuse at me in the street for waving a Fuji around, whereas people did when I was shooting a D700. And I don't get in people's faces.

Fuck it, i've ordered the x-pro1 with the 18mm. Its too good of a deal not to try it. I bought from amazon so if I don't like it I've got 30 days to return it
