  • Shaquiri and Sanchez deals are pretty much done if you believe that sort of thing...

I would love that to be true. Both have looked great in the World Cup.

  • Also Liverpool will not be allowed to sell him until after he has served his ban.

Dream on, mate. That would equal a restriction of trade of some sort. It's been rumoured that his FA aren't even sure the video is actually conclusive and could appeal, so LSclusterfuck3.0 may go on a little longer....

  • Better ask him first, otherwise thats rape.

    I can't speak his lingo.

  • The big problem for any team losing a player like him is his 100% commitment 100% of the time. It's infectious, too and you worry what happens (or doesn't happen) without it- even forgetting his goals.

I've seen a lot of top drawer player in both our colours and opposing teams get their sulk on when agitating for a move away: Henry and Torres are the obvious candidates whom stank the place out, cast dark shadows on the turf and left you looking like you were a man down.

Someone that didn't have a cob on was Ronaldo who gave his all in his final season. Those players are very rare and their commitment invaluable. United have never come close to replacing that talent. Steve Staunton (not amazing but) was said to bring that kind of energy and drive to the team according to Souness.
In short there are few who play with this conviction, it's a unique thing.

  • They did alright without him this season.

Alright isn't winning it tho, which they almost certainly would have done with him

  • Another pearler from a RAWK bellwhiff:

*".FIFA makes money on match viewership. If they do we could hurt them financially for hurting us - just boycott the rest of the tournament" *

  • That gets a thumbs-up from me...

  • Ledley King, one the nicest, calmest players in the game. John "JT CAPTAIN, LEADER, LEGEND" Terry gets sent off away at Spurs after some kind of incident with the Tottenham man, which leaves Mr Serene having to be held back by team mates. Zakoura, also had to be held back from getting to Terry. Black players in CFC jerseys are seen to look at their captain with disbelief and one is seen mouthing the words:

"John? what are you saying?" - SWP

Terry- of all players- leaves the field without the merest hint of disagreement with the ref's decision.

Is this what the football thread means by Racist? Is the above the action of a "despicable" man?

I may be a Chelsea fan but I hate John Terry, cannot stand that Captain, Leader, Legend bollocks. Wish that we had got rid of him ages ago & a perfect example of football's non existent morals. Cannot stand the fans that give the guy a pass on his scumbag behaviour because he's a good defender. GTFO.

(It's quite well known what Terry said to King but I won't post it obviously)

    WAC.

  • Guess what/who that is?

  • Godawful own goal by Ghana, but Portugal should have never had the opportunity since the ref got in the way of a Ghanaian pass as they were switching play on the attack. Should have called it back and had a drop ball.

Ronaldo looks "sad" but he's had a decent first half. His injury doesn't seem to be slowing him down that much. Now they've got one Portugal look the team more likely to go on and score the next..

  • ***"...John Boye is seen kissing his appearance fee as some other officials count theirs.

As promised by President John Mahama…"***

  • If you gave up your holiday to 'serve' your country, I think you'd want some cash off the back of it.

  • Well, looking at it, he did score already today… so yeah. Well done.

  • No Joe, it was aimed at myself.

Just to make clear for the once vocal 1 eye'd posters that seem to have lost their voices:

He Called Ledley King: "FUCKING BLACK MONKEY"

I dislike Suarez (and you can go back to see I was the first to call him a cunt waaay back under Kenny) but I don't like the laziness of calling someone anything they're not....Unless we make a blanket rule to call ALL Spaniards racists. A conversation with a girl I was going out with and living with in Barcelona a couple of years back after the fall out with Evra:

"Does the word negerito carry any negative connotations?"

Before I could finish she jumped in and said it's just a word that means little black guy and in her mind had nothing sinister. She makes her (substantial) money as a translator for multinationals. You can see why I feel the need to speak up. Shame as I'm made to do it for such a twat of a footballer.

  • Festus, no offence, the Spanish are hardly qualified to explain racial tolerance, discrimination and xenophobia. In Spanish the word negrito carries weight. You use it as a put down for anyone who's different to you.

I'm not buying the it's harmless bullshit one second.

John Terry is a massive cunt as a person but a good footballer, just like Suarez and many others.

  • and he's our cunt

  • In Spain no one understood why that could be perceived as offensive

  • That pass for ghana's goal was amazing from asamoah, outside of the boot from the edge of the box onto the head of gyan. Top quality.
    Game on!

  • JT is a massive cunt but, as jaw correctly points out, he is our cunt... Some of his actions off the pitch have been horrific and indefensible...

  • I can't imagine many football players I'd wanna go out for a pint with... Maybe Pat Nevin, but that's probably it...

  • Watched the replay of the gyan goal and asamoah's pass/cross for it is still amazing me. Outside of the left boot from the left hand side of the box curled into Ghana path, just had to stick his head out and it was in.. Perfectly flighted..

Ghana are having the better of the chances again. Really need to make the most of their chances. If they can score a couple more they could still go through..

  • If you was watching the other game you could wear your Rapha rain jacket.

  • Which one?
