Well.... Gios and Fixie is close to a sacrileg, but it looks gourgeous. Maybe some amber-Wall tires matching the Saddle and the Grips?

Your Super Record is quite close to the original trim, keep it on the road for the next retroride

In the meantime, on the opposite side of Turin, just outside the FIAT Mirafiori plant...

Probably your chain is a little short, to much tension on the rear derailleur

No, works brilliantly... I never use the 53 ring with anything bigger than the 20 sprocket, if I did I'd probably add 1-2 links.

Hey everybody, after I got such a great help with my seatpost problem, I do have a last Problem to be solved. I just Start to rebuild a 1979 Gios Super Record and I'm looking for the original fork coins in Silver and for an original watersoluble decal for the top tube. The white one with " Super Record" written on. In case someone got one of these pieces still in his attic please, please pm to me!

gold coins - could always try painting if you wanted silver, or use the coin as a base for having a silver one cast.
decals - plenty of reproductions around. If you get an original, it may be brittle.
Cyclomondo's decals are highly regarded, and are thin.
If you have time, have a look at Greg's bikes
including his Brooklyn team bike
it gives an understanding of Greg's attention to detail. -

Hy BB, yes his collection is breathtaking and the Brooklyn is perfect. I know his high quality Stickers because I allready used a set of his decals on a former projekt. They are great! But this time I just want to get one step closer to perfection. The rest of the original set I got in a fantastic state of conservation, like new. So I try to get the missing one by heart.

Which handlebar tape is the better choice for a 1979 Super Record rebuild? A " Ambrosio" or a "Benotto" (both in White) or a Hand swen leather cover?
Please let me know -
• #137
Benotto or cloth, hand-sewn leather is for hairdressers and gigolos.

• #138
Thanks Colin, I guess you dont dress hair, dont ya? Just found a picture of R. De Vlæminck 's Super Record with "Ambrosio" tape ... I guess, I go for that ... When I find a set in white

Well, lot of work, because it´s a mix-up!
A"Professional" frame with a "Super record" fork, which is quite to long. Getting the matching fork is quite a job and cutting down the one offered is a terrifing Imagination. There must be a frame missing it! It´s an offer for someone who needs the one part or the other and maybe later on he gets the missing piece for the other part -

Here is my professional on commuter duty.
Some of you might think it is inappropriate but it is such a nice ride, and is used every day of the week, so! Life is too short to ride shit bikes.
