I have a set of the following shifters

The ones with the little curve at the end and adjuster on the right hand lever.
I have a c record Gen II rear derailleur, like this one.

It does not have an adjuster barrel.
I think i have tried everything and i cannot get them to sync correctly, its driving me up the wall!
Is this derailleur compatible with 8 speed syncro shifting? It has the reach
Any Suggestions welcome
