Because filtering on the left of a large vehicle is a very stupid thing to do. Filtering on the right is better practice all round - motorists are much more likely to be looking for trouble on their right shoulder than their left - and has the advantage that you avoid all the nodders filtering on the left.

It's the meme quote that is causing the confusion. "Why you no" is taken to mean "why don't you", where as you are using it to mean "why you shouldn't".

As far as the road layout went, I didn't even spot the mistake, but I do have difficulty telling left from right, tho I would like to make it claer I am in no way responsible for this Conservative government.
