Sneidjer, biggest midfield disappointment so far? He seems off the pace and not having the control or influence he has had in the past. Do holland have anyone else to take his place in midfield?
a well read man like yourself should know better corny, he wasn't meant to be in the starting lineup in the first place, alas he's doing "alright"Looks at Stevie G.
Looks at Jordan H.
Looks at the Holy Trinity of Espana. That's more like it
Being disappointed by Sneijder?
I am disappoint.
He plays for fucking Gala doesn't he?Indeed, third rate league for a player that's past his best.
Fucking this!
Don't even get me started on Argentina.
^this, were it not for the genius that Messi is than they'd be in a spot of bother by now.
Dan what bandwagon? Don't remember any other debates about sneijder's creative effectiveness.
His effectiveness was gone at the time that Inter won the CL
LVG likes him and he's an experienced head in a relatively youthful side.
Jaw would know better but I think Strootman not playing give Sneijder more game time. Wijnaldum, Classie and Fer can also play in his spot.
He was no dead cert for a starting place until Strootman got injured, were it not for that I very much doubt he would have seen any game time.
The general consensus prior to the WC was that they'd be lucky to get out of the group stage, they're already overachieving. Robben is in the form of his life, the crappy defence doesn't look half bad and van Persie actually carries a goal threat at a big tournament. So far so good.
Best thing is that the moody cunt Huntelaar hasn't been anywhere near the action yet.

Especially with dodgy refs. Offside when the ball went to Luis and offside when the cross came in.

Yep ^. Only if they keep getting the decisions...
Dodgy defense, 1 main man.
Tactically better organised teams will do 'em. -

Jaw, valid points, well made.
For some reason I had strootman down as either a defensive mid, or a box to boxer, rather than the creative fulcrum. My bad.In terms of disappointing midfielders, I think Oscar despite his workrate has been disappointing. This brazil side is going to live or die by neymar doing his thing.
Argentina's midfield looks better when gago plays and like brazil they go as far as messi takes them. Still surprised scolari didn't take Lucas moura who could have added a bit of invention if neymar gets crocked...

I think Joseph Gordon Levitt is doing really well playing Nico Kovac, it's definitely his most convincing role yet.

Mexico look to have sealed it, game was getting quite physical but Mexico have been on top for most of this half.

Yep, all over

Croatians have their heads down, I can see Mexico getting four or five now. Even ManUre players named after Abba songs are getting on the score sheet.

Another lovely goal from brazil. Wonder if scolari will give fernandinho a starting spot, maybe giving Oscar a chance to push further forward, as he'd be protected by Luis gustavo and fernandinho... Think I'd also start wilian over hulk as well, he's looked lively coming on..

Hulk had a bit of a shocker, touch kept letting him down and never seemed to be able to find or create space.

Ultra, hulk kept trying too hard, wanting to score a goal, taking a touch too many when he could have released the player outside him. Looks like a striker playing out on the wing...
