If any "CAD Monkeys" as referenced up-thread would like a crack at redesigning these with a latch/grab-hands type closure then please step forward.
The overall diameter can now be measured precisely, the two circular ones are fine but the oval one needs to be ever so slightly longer - with paint, and the copper terminal strips plus the thin rubber weather proofing seal.
