Situation is as follows:
- Paragon Machineworks dropout
- 11 speed wheel (Tested with both HED Stinger 4 and a FLO30 running a Chorus cassette)
- 9070 rear mech
The dropout is 4.5mm thick - which precisely meets the Shimano tech requirements.
The way in which one adjusts a Di2 rear mech is to shift to the fifth sprocket from the largest, then use the micro-adjust to shift toward the 4th until the chain starts to chatter.
You then back off four stops which puts the mech in the correct place.
But I can't- I can back off by 1, so the chain doesn't chatter, and I get decent shifting, but it's not "to spec", and it's driving me nuts.
So I want to space the rear mech out by 0.5mm just to get that adjustment, and a shim washer with an ID of 10mm and OD of 12mm seems the thing to use.
The dropout is in the right place, and is commonly used for Di2 bikes, so I don't know what's going on here -maybe my mech is a duffer?
Sounds like an 0.6mm chainring spacer will do the trick, certainly worth a try.

Going to take a wild stab that they are the same as the fake 3T forks china are making but nobody has printed 3T on that batch.

Just won these scabby cranks on eBay, can anyone tell me which type of bb I need and in what length for a standard track chai line?

I have just been for a bike ride and I can't upload the activity to Garmin Connect. I've tried a few things but I think there is a problem with the .fit file. Right at the end of the ride my Garmin crashed and powered down...perhaps this was the cause.
Does anybody on here have a copy of the FIT file repair tool? I'm on Mac and its windows only...

We need to see the other side, but my guess is 108mm ISIS. You are about to find out why the cranks were cheap :-)

Can anyone reccomend somwhere good to rent a bike in Berlin?
-
• #61215
hackney marsh, am running a half-marathon there on sunday morning, apparently there's bike locking in the southern part near the start.
how safe is it to lock up round there? i don't mind bringing two locks but is it a known hotspot for parts strippers?
Kazakh had her cockpit stripped near there last week. Not worth the risk.

What about questions that haven't been asked?
This stuff is amazing - works way better than any pump system, lasts about 2 years if used for 1 bottle per week. -
• #61217
Maybe better in the "I love" thread, oh well.

What about questions that haven't been asked?
There's a reason nobody has ever asked; not finishing the bottle is a sign of failure.

What is the sound system going to be used for? Voice, music etc
What is the sound source?

It's for some traffic noise and some beeping sound. Bit weird I know... I can't get my head around what do I actually need to connect the speakers + projection + either a computer or a media player. All the sound system package I see online come with a DVD player or sth... But it seems like they are also media player hub thing that one can plug in a USB to play the stuff...
Am goin to richer sound this pm hopefully they can sort me out with some decent and cheap ish stuff...

Just hire a tiny PA system for the duration of the installation. Maybe just a pair of active monitors would sort you out depending on the size of the installation and the distances at which you need people to hear it, ie people standing close or far away. Inverse square rule I think for wattages.
Google your local disco shops and go chat to them. Like in bike shops they really like talking about their stuff.

Are there any metallurgists in the house?
Would generic 13mm grade 80 chain be a better or worse option than say 10mm chain sold specifically as part of a lock, for security purposes obviously. I'm guessing unless stated otherwise random chain won't go through the same hardening processes but would the increased diameter offset that enough?

I'd put money on a 10mm bar specifically designed to resist cutting outperforming a 13mm bar designed for safe lifting. Even among steels not designed for security applications, there is a huge difference in how quickly they fuck up your cutting discs :-) Lifting chain isn't high performance stuff, since it's always going to be cheaper to buy a fatter chain than to have a small size made from very high strength steel.
