  • Yes, but there are still some alloys that are stiffer than others.
    Same tube diameter and wall thickness steel tubes differ in their stiffness.

    But I get that if for some reason there's an option of using more material to make the tubes stiffer, then make it wider, not thicker. As thicker tubes don't have as much stiffness as wider tubes using the same amount of material per length of tube.
