As an adult I was never bothered with England because they played so poorly. Even Italian 90 was pretty shambolic. You support your club through thick and thin but it's easy to be less involved at international level particularly when none of your club players represent. But as soon as I started teaching non English adults I started to become more and more xenophobic on match days purely because they don't stop prodding you with insults. Now I'd just like to see the players play without fear and if we win some games so we can all take the piss out of the opposition then that's a good bonus. Come on England!

For me the last time England were entertaining was Euro '96 - they actually looked like they enjoyed playing. The old old guard were having a very final throw of the dice and there were some memorable moments and visions of genius.

The current England team lack all of this. Watching England isn't entertaining - it's become painful.

The manager (whomever picks up the poison chalice after the press force Roy out) cannot realistically expect to win the Euro's, but there is chance of progressing further than the group stages for Sochi and then better still for the next one in Qatar (because all these corruption allegations will get neatly swept under the carpet and forgotten about).

Totally this. England should know their limits - they're dealing with professionals. Why are these people allowed to inflict such abject misery on our nation with little or no punishment?

Nope. Just don't like nasty little racists. He was nasty a long long time before he scored against England.

He's nasty, he's apparently not that racist according to MG, but my god can he score goals.
