Costa is a donkey, which means we're obviously getting him next season...

Yeah, he wasn't great, but the whole team was shit. Chelsea's play is much more suited to him as well, I'm sure (but not hoping) he'll be better than at the WC.

I'm expecting Spain to have a generation of 19 yr olds waiting to take over but we haven't seen any break on the scene for some time. What is the the situation ? ( expects some forum member in their twenties to reply to that with detailed knowledge of obscure Spanish youth team information when they really should have been spending their time yentzing)

Iniesta is the only Spaniard worthy of the shirt from this World Cup.
worthy of a night shirt. sleepy performance from all of the spanish squad.
they have been simply fuckin amazing for the best part of the decade.
but no youth in that squad and an era has ended.
red card for corny for his petulance re fussball and mikec

Thankfully we're not forced to endure his sycophantic utterings over here. But we do have the ever incisive Keys/Gray as well as Zenden (including his supply of truly appalling suits), Mendieta and to top it all off - Souness.

And apparently, Ronaldo's been striding around with an ice pack on his troublesome left knee.

Mikec don't come on all fucking outraged, you're the most mardy, fickle, bandwagon jumping, flag waving plastic here and though you post a lot you're sand in most of our vaginas. Also thin skinned and paranoid and currently mouthy because Liverpool did well last season. I look forward to you flouncing come next February if liverpool's champions league charges blunts their premier league focus....
Woahh woahh! Bandwagon jumper? Paranoid? Are you mad!
I'm not jumping on any bandwagon. As a fan of the most abused team on here I like to think my skin is not too thin. And everyones entitled to a flounce every now and then.
Just because Tottenham will balls it all up again next year and finish behind a team who are doing their best to get rid of any decent players they might have there's no need to get personal. -

Oh you got Souness out there have you? It used to be big Sam doing the Arabic coverage. Remember I was on holiday in Egypt once watching a game and BFS popped up at half time chatting in the studio to the dudes in the headdresses. He looked a little out of place

Hmmm apparently Frank Lampard and Stevie G gave the rest of the squad a speech about the pain of failure.
I imagine Stevie did most of the talking.

Fortunately the bloke at the bar we were in had the courtesy to turn the sound down whenever Souness piped up. He did allow us the genius of Gray and his unique analysis though.
Which isn't actually as good as GNeville and his magic pen
BFS will always look out of place.

robbin clocked as the fastest footballer .... according to theo wealcott
Arsenal forward Theo Walcott congratulated Dutchman Arjen Robben for becoming the world's fastest footballer, a title he previously held. "Robben, Congrats for beating my clocked speed but thought it looked a bit downhill," the 25-year-old

There's indeed plenty of them, just takes someone with the balls to bleed them and perhaps adapt to the current trend. Spain really are starting to look like they're playing an outdated type of football. They looked blunt and I have to say that until last week I didn't see it coming. At the Euro's they opted to play most games without a striker and the last 2 games they had arguably the best striker in La Liga and were worse off for it.
Some of the better known young players like Thiago Alcantara, Deulofeu, Tello, Traore, Morata, Jese, Isco, Canales, Muniain, Pardo, Caravajal would all stroll into most of all the starting lineups at this tournament. There's a never ending supply of quality players coming out of Spain at the moment.
They've got the basics right now they need to go back to the drawing board and come up with a more effective way to score goals.

Man Utd being linked with a £40m bid for Robben. That's a hell of a lot of money for a 30 year old.

Abdication might be all the fashion in Spain this week.. But when you see the manager getting on the wrong bus after the match, that is pure comedy..
