I see at least three other people from this ride made the top 10 in this Strava Segment...

For me, this was a "Hamburger Hills Have Eyes" ride on the ascents so I'm amazed there were top 10 rankings on Strava especially when considering the LFGSS crew's patience with my thermodynamic issues. The descents were fantastic and the landscapes looked like the Lord of the Rings Middle-earth. It was good chatting with everyone on the ride, picnic breaks and train home. Thanks for pushing my limits Nic.

By my calculation you can leave London at midday on Friday train to Maidstone, Ride to Dover, ferry to Calais, ride to pub/Ypres, ride back to Calais, ferry to Dover and train to london and be back for 6am Monday morning...
Which is a bit mental but might try to refine it slightly...

I live 5 miles from maid stone so sounds good :P whats the cost of a ferry?
-

£15 return... Which sounds like a bargain to me

And me, would/will be very tired at work that monday

What about a ferry to Dunkirk? Knocks about 40k off the ride to Ypres and another 40k off the ride back.

Yeah, It should be a two day trip ideally.
And the total distance is only 155 miles which is no hassle for a weekend...

You're welcome Doc. Pm me your bank details and I'll send some cash for the tickets.
