Tim, when are we riding to a windmill again?
Hmm, yes. That should be done again.

One question asked last night is whether we should do a weekly ride over June/July while we have the light.
Nothing at all to do with certain people wanting to get as many rides in as they can before the birth.
Anyway, what is consensus on this idea?

That was a nice variation. Not sure why "the woman who knows where she is" didn't call the left turn but it did give us some nice new, flat, smooth blacktop and a few little lanes to explore. After that she was near flawless, except for one very late call on a turn that forced Upstart to overshoot. Flawless also applies to the riders out last night too, my stats tell me we hit the 17mph holy grail of the WNKR/TNRC, and actually pushed up to 19.5 for the final 5 miles, sorry about that Chris, but you have to earn your chips.

yeah I had fun too, nice route. My vital Statistics, Distance 101.3 Miles, Avg Speed 16.9 Mph. The Moon was awesomely bright, got home just before 1 a.m.
I would be into more regular WNKR but perhaps July would be a good months to experiment with WeeklyWNKR?

a mate of mine reminded me about tnrc, didn't realise you were all WNKRs now!
-
• #459
What do you mean, "now"?
On the topic of greater regularity, I can't do two weeks' time (25th?), but can do next week, so that's my vote cast.

I'm all for WNKRing weekly through the summer but I think we are a bit late to get an official ride up for this Wednesday (that and I can't be arsed right now) so we'll stick with Chingford (or wherever the mysterious controller decides) for a week on Wednesday then we can go weakly (sic) if there is enough interest.
And in case anyone is worried, I had a word with the lads and got them to throw the Italy gamel. That way England will finish second in the group, putting them in the right side of the draw to miss all the subsequent Wednesday games.

Hi, are gears welcome on these rides?
-
• #465
Frowned upon.
-
• #466
Seriously tho, gears are welcome but this is a predominantly fixed ride, the pace and rhythm will be dictated by that, but if you think you can stick with it then you are welcome.
Read the first post for the full low-down.

In. I won't be as fast as I used to be, still, but hopefully fast enough.

Any news on when we may be riding to Bath?

We're waiting for Benjam to organise it. I'm thinking he has a window this Friday before people are tied up with le grand defart or le dun run.

Out, sadly. My health is shit this week. Unlikely to be back on a bike by Wednesday and won't be up for this if I am.

Great spinning indeed, speedy and narrow and so great - but not so great for photos. Perfect ride out to inaguate Bad Dad mode. Thanks again to MoN and the woman in his head for getting us around. Magical mystery tour indeed.
