  • Please register for our lovely tournament here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1xsZGjbLnIfZZZZa0wNN-i1VDF-iODqcKc2RQDS_JfDk/viewform

    Fanks.

Do you have a list of teams entered so far?

Might help with players who think their teammates have already registered their team, and identify those who are not available to form teams.

  • Look at the original post. Teams entered have been updated

  • No they haven't.

  • Sorry Andy and joe. Already entered wit a coupl of Glasgow players.

  • Sorry guys can't make this now.

  • nooooo...

  • Get hold of Chris.

  • OP updated with teams. Shout up if anything looks wrong.

  • Censorship is f**g b***t!

  • Also, Oli is our second team member, no one is below Scott.

  • Saturday night beer info added.

  • OK, if Project Youngass and Project Yewtree are likely to be too risque then we will be called Playdate, could you swap Oli around to be the first team member and Scott last, I feel that this is his team and he is captain.

  • Done. I hope he's sorting you out with a sweet team kit too.

  • Resists Googling "adult playsuits"

  • I don't think a onesie would be practical for polo; too flappy, likely to get caught.

  • Just like the naked bike ride I did.

  • That's quite enough about your gut, thank you.

  • Can you update the teams please?
Joe, Viki and I are playing as Banana Space Rockets.

Also have you got any info on places to stay? Google and all the hostel search websites show Sheffield as having 1 hostel, and it looks grim.

  • Ask John about camping.

  • Yeah, he mentioned it yesterday at polo. Are many people going on Friday night and camping in John's garden?

  • I'm heading over early Friday to help build the court and set a tent up. I'll be camping fri/sat poss Sunday too. I think quite a few scots will be there as well

  • Scottish should be there, Scott and I will be at John's on Saturday night too.

  • Teams updated. Looks like a nice crowd!

  • Format news!

Saturday will be Swiss Rounds, 4 of them. If we have an odd number of teams, we'll use the "Instant MIx" option - a throw-in team made up of less experienced players (so they get more court time and tournament experience) to avoid having to use byes.

Sunday, the standings after the Swiss rounds will be split in half (we'll look at the standings before deciding where the cut-off is made), and each half will play a double elimination to see who is crowned "Reet good" (the bottom half), and who will earn the great Yorkshire accolade of "Champion"!
