Tubular tyres Vince?
Yes, track tubs.
I wouldn't advise to run these at Herne Hill as I picked up 2 punctures on mine last year but anywhere indoors will be just fine.

Sorry Vince I read "hubs", hence the query.

You tell me this now? I just fitted some for this :( Did you repair them, or send them out for a repair? Or bin them?

Mine were Pista Evo CS so one level up and even less rubber so even more prone to punctures - straight to the bin as I was not keen on unglueing, un-sewing, fixing the latex inner, re-sewing, reglueing and using again at max PSI.
I went for puncture protected road tyres in the end, which are unfortunately directional so can't really be flipped.
These ones:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vittoria-corsa-evo-cx-ii-tubular-tyres-pair/rp-prod115467Please note that the latex inner means that the tyres need to be pumped up at every session, which might be an inconvenience for some people.

Ah thanks for clarifying. Perhaps my unwillingness to plump for the nicer ones will pay off in the end then.

Bollocks are they directional.

Bollocks are they directional.
Y U NO TRUST
See the picture on CRC for thread pattern. There is also a rotation arrow on them which defo makes directional.
You could run them the 'wrong' way around but imagine the watts you would lose.
Paging Tester for analysis of power loss due to directional tyres used the other way around

The Pista obvo aren't but the Corsa Evo CXII are.

I don't dispute that Vittoria say they're directional, I'm saying there'll be no measurable difference in running them the 'wrong' way round.
-

Why do you want to flip the wheel anyway? HH and LV velodromes do not allow flip flop hubs or having another sprocket on the other side.

Still waiting for Tester's input!

The tyres wear off mainly from centreline to left hand side due to going anti-clockwise at HH so would benefit from being 'flipped' once wear is visible to use the other side of the tyre.
Tubs are on my Campagnolo Pista wheels so I would need to unglue the tub and reglue it the other way around in order to use the other half of the tyre.

don't hold your breath. it took them weeks to correct the fuji track 1.1 when I asked them why their spec was for a steel bike with shit components and not the alu frame with mid-range spec shown in the pic.
I even told them which bike they'd copied it from (one of the fuji classic track bikes) and they still insisted the listing was correct.
bunch of fucknuggets.

This is why all tracks should changed from a oval to a figure of 8.
Preferably requiring you to jump the crossing track over ramps like my old scaletrix set.
