That very dull video is actually praising the driving.

Are http://www.pjellis.co.uk/ unsafe on the roads? That's what I would like examined by our great justice system.

I can't believe what I'm reading about P&J Ellis.

Is there any chance of cutting out the constant mentions of the company and moving it to another thread?
I fully understand people's frustration with the outcome, but as ever, this thread isn't the place for the 'joke'.

A quick update on this incident, just in case anyone is interested. 5 months after the accident the case goes to court.
The driver: after pleading guilty, got a £375 fine and 5 points.
The victim: is still in pain, using crutches and will never walk properly again.
The £375 won't even cover the cost of the prescriptions, let alone the specialist shoes she'll require.
Avoid booking, using or riding close to P&J Ellis coaches, the driver is still on the road!Really, really sorry to hear about all this. I hope things change for the better. I would hope, with the successful charge, that getting compensation is a formality, however I can understand that no amount of £ will make up for the pain & anguish.

The law is an ass, we didn't expect much from it.

It's ridiculous. The guy that hit me and fled was fined over £600 and got 6 points and I wasn't really injured - just some bark off - shoulda done the prick for killing my saddle though.
I expect fleeing the scene pushed the fine and points up. This driver stopped.
So, has the bus company offered anything in the way of compensation?
The bus company being P&J Ellis http://www.pjellis.co.ukNo contact from the coach company but why would they, this is now a matter between insurers and lawyers.
Has the management of P & J Ellis issued a statement about the incident?
No, but again way would they? I'm guessing an admission of guilt/sorrow wouldn't be advised my insurers/lawyers.
Should this be appealed? Srsly? Call another lawyer!
No point appealing, it was a case brought by the police. I expect the driver had a sob story about how driving is his job blah blah blah. Unless the judge cycled or knows a cyclist who has been injured, they just heard about a traffic violation and a girls foot getting run over. I doubt they had any info on the extent of her injures, as far as I know the police never asked for further medical details after the accident.

Where do PJ Ellis hire their drivers from? Are they trained?
P & J Ellis should consider cycle training their drivers

One bad employee at a company might not be a reflection on all of them. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have named and shamed the company, but I was angry and in change of a keyboard.
Luckily I didn't have the drivers name and address to hand! Just like Addison Lee cabs, there are some companies that I will never give my business too. -

I saw a P&J Ellis bus drive into and rip off a stationary range rovers wing mirrors a few years back. (in kensington) Caught up with the driver and told him/her (cant remember) what they had done and the driver just said, "the car was in the bloody way! it should have moved!"
I've seen sketchy driving from this companies buses a several times. Beware.

Do you know what crime the P&J Ellis coach driver was charged with? Was it dangerous driving or careless driving?
P & J Ellis should consider cycle training their drivers
