Then you're going some! Is that urban London or do you get good stretches of lane between junctions?
I managed 10 miles across Manchester in about 37 minutes on Monday evening, including all reds and one wrong turn, and I was riding a heavily laden surly big dummy.

Yebbut, that's Manchester. If you'd slowed down, someone would have nicked your wheels.

First mini crash of the year this morning. Pootling along the bus lane on Brxiton Rd just coming upto the Tesco Express when bam, found myself smashing into a car who had decided to pull into the Tesco without looking. Main thing no damage to the bike, managed to leave her car with a massive scratch along the bottom of the passenger side door and a bit of dent where my wrist hit. All manner of excuses, I should have seen her, she wasn't indicting as witness by another women, she thought I was further away. I was going to fast.....

i got similarly nailed there some months back. is it the one underneath the old Russell Hotel? i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that parking lot is only for deliveries and is quite heavily signposted as such.
this may not be the case anymore.

Saw a chap fall off his bike while stopped at the lights. It was pretty odd, he'd been stopped for a while, one foot down, no problem, suddenly BOOM, toppled over. Bizarre.

Bloody hot. Got comedy tan lines, looks like I've been working up to my elbows in a slurry pit.

I managed that this morning, although I was moving, came into the lights too hot, slammed my foot down to stop, foot bounced and I fell. Lots of people pointed and laughed.

Woke up to a delicious smoothie and a bacon and avocado sanger at my mate's house, had a wonderful ride through victoria park in the glorious sunshine smiling all the way.
Got to Liverpool St and some fat cunt stepped out in front of me causing an awkward screeching stop with my left foot coming unclipped. Insta-shit mood engaged.

needed to have a blood test this morning so woke up at 9.30. ambled a mile up the road on my brompton to the clinic, was in and out in under 4 minutes. hopped on the tube, nice and empty from wimbledon south until bank, read my book.
coffee and banana bread to break the fast for the blood test now and I get to enjoy the sun on the way home on the brompton.
so far so smug.

Glorious ride to work this morning despite the roads being overcrowded with people who ride their bike like they have just removed their stabilisers and drivers who apparently think it's acceptable to suddenly u-turn in the middle of a busy road.

Extremely busy crossings there, almost Oxford St levels at times. Get thee to the Primary Position!*
*making an assumption that if someone 'steps out' in front of you that perhaps you're a bit near the gutter(?).

but you didn't even make it to dover castle so it wasn't a real SE's hangover.

Skully in the city people pretty much throw themselves into the middle of the road without warning. or they'll look you dead in the eyes and still step out.
I used to run a pub in Southsea called the Fuzz and Firkin- it was an old police station, hence the HILARIOUS name.
It was a bit of an odd fish- too expensive for the students and not cheap enough for the locals, so I kept 8-10 real ales on most of the time, and had lots of live music.
We rubbed along, and the regulars were as nice a bunch of functional alcoholics as you would care to meet.
The dunnies were upstairs apart from the disabled- which was at the end of the bar by the pool table.
Why is this of note? It is of note because the hand dryer in the disabled lav was widely agreed to be haunted - it would only infrequently work when someone presented their hands, but would frequently fire up all on it's own, creating a little pocket of noise and hot air that achieved nothing other than burning up some electricity.
It reminds me strongly of ahdhfjlkdsjf.
