Hide in a group, that's a long day,top fun ,Cipressa drags a bit,Poggio is harder than it looks after 275kms and of course you will ease away from Sean Kelly on the run in to the finish!!!!!...enjoy

I doubt I will be pulling away from anyone by the time I get over the Poggio.
I need to put together a formal training plan. My LEJOG training was just regular mid-week mileage with a big weekend ride. I think this will need a bit more structure. Hopefully getting a turbo this weekend to help.
Tommy - let me know if you sign up.

Signed up this week so the die is now cast.
Turbo bought and set-up with trainer road membership to follow.
Time to get serious!
Anyone else signed up yet?

Done! Bit hot wasn't it!

Freakin hot - it almost broke me on the Cipressa but got up and over. Cracking day on the bike. Cycling along the coast peddle to the metal was awesome.

Great work guys.. what was your time.
-
• #10
Not sure on official time yet but roughly 10 hours 10 min - I don't ride with any bike computer. Would certainly do again. I saw a Kingston wheelers jersey on the Turchino Pass.

9 hours 54 mins - just about 30kph average which I'm happy with, particularly as I was dehydrated and grovelling along for a while along the coast. Results here...

its 290km.. didn't they feed stations?
-
• #13
4 feed stations but it was 36 degrees and despite it being a "sprinters classic" the hills are b*stards. Along the coast the little towns all have ramps as you leave and they rinse you out. The climb on the Capo Berta had some shade but there was no place to hide when you turned onto the Cipressa.

Chapeau folks.
I did Liege Bastogne Liege full route this year and can't imagine riding a further distance than that (although there's a lot more climbing in LBL)! The heat must have been beastly. bet you've got some crackin' tan lines

Did you do LBL as a sportive? It's on my list to do at some point. If you can do LBL with the climbing M - SR would be fine.
Thanks fook I slapped on factor 30 or I would be cooked to a crisp.

^ Yeh, the sportive in April. Certainly didn't do it with the pros!! It's the day before the pro race so we got to stick around and boshbelgian beers and watch them the day after.
It was brutal but amazing, would do it again. Perfect parcours for me (I'm a climbing type)
I was thinking of signing up for the Milan - San Remo sportive as this years target ride. 2013 was about LEJOG and I need something to aim for this year.
Has anyone any experience of completing it or recommendations on places to stay etc?
Cheers.
