Yikes. I didn't think expect them to be that much. Might go have a chat with a couple of steel fabricators up here and see if they'll give me a quote.
I might have a go at brazing one up myself (when i get some time).
For a few pounds and a few hours I would encourage anyone to experiment with making their own racks - mine from some years ago are still structurally fine although rattle can paint isn't the best.
Silver soldered joints (front) have worked as effectively as the brazed joints (rear) for the home made racks on my 'shopping' bike, but the lower melting point of silver solder was more readily achieved with a propane torch - brazing was a bit marginal.
Curves were achieved by close spaced multiple hacksaw cuts 90% through the tube on the inside of the bend, pulling it to shape, and flooding with solder / braze. This gives something close to a kink free curve without needing a pipe bending jig, and allows a bit more creativity...
