  • It's been too long with out sight of the beautiful visage of our esteemed Murts. So it's time once again to make the pilgrimage out to deepest darkest Surrey to visit him in his strange new land.

Meet at Coach and Horses, Clapham Park Road @ 12pm on Sat 28 June. Departure at 12.30pm and then a leisurely 30km to Redhill to Home Cottage pub right by Redhill Train Station:

    Start: Coach & Horses https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/The+Coach+%26+Horses/@51.459722,-0.131407,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x4876044fa86aac85:0x2c6106aacc52e43d

    End: Home Cottage http://homecottageredhill.com/

Those who want to can ride back. Those who don't can jump on the train back to Clapham Junction (and other places I can't be bothered to look up) with some groupsave action.

All are welcome, but please note that this is a ride organised primarily for those who know (and love?!) Murts, rather than a standard forum ride. As long as you're happy to have a laugh, a beer and take the piss out of Murts then you're more than welcome...

Bring your gears, fixed, SS, beach cruiser, whatever; just don't be a dick on it!

    Inevitable list:

The route above is the same as last time, but I'm happy to change it. I think Simon (OLC) had some suggestions for a slightly quieter route. Not sure if less hilly though...

  • Currently I can do this. Yay. I might just head down from home rather than head into town first or maybe I'll do a short, sharp 8 hours on the TT bike first or maybe bring gf or something. I dunno.

  • Godarnit, I will be in Austria at slevless HQ that weekend so no murtling for me.

On the plus side you'll probably all have a much nicer time with no arguments without me there.

  • You've missed something, I've kindly done it for you:

no, i just need to watch from the track side until i can commit my name to the list proper. i dont want murtle singing that donald byrd chorus at me :-)

  • hats we love your arguments although I now have "murtling" in my head as a euph and it's not a pretty picture.

Clefty! Will be good to roll with you again. Bringing MOC? We used to see him all the time rolling by our old place, he can do this although probably sans goth boots is best.

  • Haha, yes, I'm commuting regularly again - so feel more capable of a longer ride.
Despite riding every day, MOC still prefers his new Audi (to be fair it is fucking awesome).
His ability to ride with goth boots amazes me every day - he never gets wet feet tho, maybe we should all be wearing goth boots to ride..

  • Maybe do a goth boot ride to Camden.

  • Benjamin and I will come see you all off, and then meet you via train in Redhill ... I think the toddlebike pace might take us a week to get out of London.

  • You had me at beach cruiser:

  • Bump.

  • Wishing you a lovely ride down south.. Spare a thought for Denton Welch on the way - mown down by Annie Hutley for 'no apparent reason' on his way from Greenwich to Reigate via a cup of tea in the cafe in Beckenham Place Park..

  • Have amended the route slightly to take in Farthing down on the suggestion of Fox.

  • Looks a lot flatter than (and not as steep as) last time.

    Famous last words ... :)

  • T4, was planning on joining you, but Vince has his last football match of the season on Saturday morning. I might try to come along but I won't be there at the start.
