^ Thanks, it's a really nice idea! My main reservation about getting a Rohloff/Alfine has always been the extra weight at the back of the bike. Seems a far better idea to locate that mass in the centre of the frame.

I've fancied something similar since first seeing the Nicolai gearbox bikes.

ZMG etc.

There were a couple of bikes that mounted Alfine innards in the same fashion as those Pinion boxes IIRC.
