I have a question regarding lenses and film formats.
Is a 90mm lens on a 6x9 camera as unsuited to portraits as the 35mm equivalent (roughly 40mm) would be, for example will I give people that big nose look?
I ask because I've been wondering all day, it will have a larger FOV so may not have the compression a 90mm lens for 35mm format would have OTOH would it keep some of the compression because if you work backwards a 50mm lens for 35mm format will still not give any more compression at APS crop even though it gives a tighter image.
I'm so confused :(

So a 115mm lens on 6x9 camera, gives nearly exactly a 50mm standard view as per 35mm camera.

Home scan?

Both great. Love the top one.
There seems to be a slight blue tint on both of them... -

Home scan yes. I agree on the blue tint, I kinda like it on the top one but it does seem to be on nearly all the images. This is down to the program I scan with. I'm currently just using the scan straight out of Vuescan, usually pulling back on the blue slider slightly.
A better workflow is to scan it raw and run it through ColourPerfect which gives pretty awesome results, no blue tint. I only have the trial version at the minute which adds a grid to the image. When I have the cash I might end up just paying for it.

Still not done with all films in the compacts (four of six rolls finished, two of them developed yet; just too much else on my plate right now),
and yestersay somebody gave me a Nikon F3 with the 50mm 1.4 Nikkor "to play around with". I was happy.
Put a half finished roll of Ektar in it, and am curious to have a go during the heat-wave we are getting the next few days. It's the most "pro" (manual focus) Nikon film camera I ever had in my hands I guess.
It's heavier and bigger than it should or needs to be I think, and it's really uncomfortable to hold!
The camera itself as a whole, most of the buttons, even the film advance crank, like designed to be edgy.
Nice features of course, and really great shutter button (one of the best) and sound is like "in your face"! -

Picked up an Olymus Trip AF 30 for a quid so ran a roll of film through it.... Horrible camere to use, shutter button was unpreditable, flash seemed to be awkward to cancel easily and the photos were pretty meh....
best of a bad bunch...

:-P
Well there's people "shooting" pictures and people "taking" pictures I guess, and that camera is definately for the former.
Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate a lot of it - it's very well and clever made.
But I imagine walking around shooting with that thing for 2 hours - my hands would definately hurt.
Well most of the SLRs from that era are far more "edgy" than today's cameras, but this is really a brick! -

Sorry i hope this post doesn't come across as spammy but it felt like this thread was the best place to ask
I am in dire need of a digital video recorder, i have an hour of solid footage from the rave in croydon on a vhs tape and need to convert it into a digital format, i wasnt paid to record but i can offer a small amount of cash for your time and a copy of the raw footage (and a lot of respect)
Literally one of those boxes that record tv onto a hard drive or dvd will do the job, or those little xbox capture cards will also do the job
please contact me on 079zero8257503 or pm on here if you can help, thank you
except for DoF the images will be the same.
