Wiggins pays Scott Mitchell to "accidentally" get his camera strap caught in Froome's wheel at the Dauphine, resulting in predictable collarbone breakage. Wiggins takes leadership, making "Cup of tea?" gesture as he wins Yorkshire stage, thus endearing himself to millions of indifferent Brits. Leads out Cav to victory on the Champs Elysees. Moves to OPQ. Gets full chest piece of St. George slaying the dragon with his face on St. George and Froome's face on the dragon. Becomes Prime Minister.

Later convicted of crimes against fashion in an international court?

I think Wiggins could have an real chance at the Classics next year if he put his mind to it. He should move to a team that would support his crack at that. I hope he drops in on here to heed my advice.

It's a question of strong management of the two personalities, and making sure they remain professional.
I meant for a team other than Sky. That ship has clearly sailed.

Utter genius. The "cup of tea" celebration has to happen.

By the sounds of it Sky aren't even offering him a contract for next season.

Hmm, anyone else remember the 2012 Tour? I saw a maverick twice in that race, riding against team orders and it wasn't Wiggins.
This - this was the only time I think I've seen anyone in Team Sky showing any indiscipline in aTdF - I think even Cav managed to race properly didn't he?
I imagine the overriding feeling is that Froome is too good an asset to risk upsetting. I feel for Wiggins - a TdF start at home could be a career goal for most people.

Luckily he's already fulfilled that goal, in his home city too, rather than some run down northern dump.

Loving the Facebook comments...
All the Wiggins lovers, jumping from the Team Sky Glory Wagon with a quickness.... -

I'd love to see Wiggins in the tour.
What I'd love to see even more is to see him ride off the front on the cobbled stage for a win.
I find Froome very hard to like, great racer as he is.

^Yes, all the Wiggins lovers who started supporting Sky and even following road racing because of him.

Do we have totally mainstream, pre-tour hype buildup?
Is this a UK 1st?

I can't wait to wear my Froome base layer this weekend.

I recon Dave B saw all this coming and it's why he dropped his role at British Cycling for Team Sky. Decisions need to be made and although I think it's not the decision I'd have made, Dave B will have selected the team he thinks have the best chance and I'd guess he doesn't trust Brad and Chris to get along.
Looking at the Facebook page with everyone moaning about a "british icon"... imagine the hooha that would have ensued if Dave would actually have been answerable to the british public.
