When I've broken an Ergo body though, it's tended to be around the brake lever pivot - puts too much tension on the repair to be confident in it, especially for something that's a bit safety-critical ...
Swapping the innards over is fiddly but not that hard: it won't need to be a Record body that you cannibalise either. Chorus will definitely work; other lower bodies may depending on exactly which model you've got (2nd/3rd gen).
