  • You're mum!

  • no, you're a mum

  • whinging poms

    #amidoingitright?

  • The latest Cycling Podcast suggests Geraint Thomas is leaving Sky

  • you could have at least said he's crashing out of sky

  • Maybe he found a team with grippier tyres?

  • Garmin then?

  • Farrar will knock everyone down first so there's no one left for G to crash into?

  • Wiggins is definitely not going to the tour by the way.

  • Shhhhhh!

  • The willwiggogo subject has got people surprisingly excited.

Meanwhile: Purito will ride it and Quintana has dibs on a 2015 ride apparently.

  • Froome is on the One Show on BBC1 at 7 tonight.

  • Poor bastard. No-one deserves that.

  • Does Adrian Chiles still do that?

  • G to Garmin or Lotto? Maybe even OGE?

  • Would G to OGE make sense when they're probably looking to build up more their GC potential and it sounds like he's not going cheap given that Sky balked at salary demands

  • G has been mooted as a GC rider, not sure how realistic it is.

I wonder what his personal ambitions are, especially with the Olympics starting to hove into view. Does he see himself as a classics rider, does he fancy riding for GC? He was a making a decent fist of Paris-Nice before crashing out.

With EBH and Thomas leaving, Sky are going to have to work hard to rebuild their classics squad, or better yet throw their entire strength behind Stannard and let him loose to smash stuff.

  • GC = Good Crash?

  • Good Crash vs Cobbled Classics crossroads summed up nicely here >>>

  • To be in it for GC I should imagine it helps to be THE fella a team want to work for. He might need to work on that along with his (already pretty good) climbing.

    Man Rouleur stole my thoughts....again

  • Personally I think he has a better chance with stage racing. Classics are so bonkers and require real racing nous, and a massive dollop of luck, neither of which he has much of.

  • I think a character like Evans is a great example of a GC guy. He's ridiculously thorough – mega attention to detail and consistent. Stage racing seems to be as much about avoiding problems as anything.

Geraint is still a bit of a lad maybe. He's a cock to his girlfriend, I wonder what he's like in a team. I hope he proves me wrong and wins bigger tours.
