• We got chatting and the officer was very clear that it is worth reporting incidents of dangerous driving and aggressive behaviour. The report will stay on the persons file and if there are subsequent incidents the fact that the person has previous reports of dangerous driving etc will be taken into account when they are considering what course of action to take.

Hi,
First time posting - I would have 'introduced' myself but the anti-spam stuff stops me, until I've posted three times.

Anyway, I've used the Road Safe site on about ten occasions. I commute every day and have done for the past five years, so that's a reasonable average. Although road rage is a daily occurrence, I reserve actual reports for the most dangerous, most egregious cock-ups imaginable.

On each and every occasion I have used it, the response has been to fob me off with a hearty thank you for reporting the incident, but that.. well, let me quote one of the responses..

'Thank you for your submission to Road Safe London.*
I can confirm that the incident you reported on March 27th has been fully investigated by police.
*Unfortunately, on this occasion, we are unable to prosecute the driver of the vehicle involved.'

At first, the site mentioned that one could report anti-social driving. When I do, however, I get the pathetic response that such behaviour constitutes 'public order offences', and that I need to go to the local plod shop.

The whole 'Road Safe London' site is a public relations exercise to convince us that the old bill give a flying f**k about cyclists.

Don't be fooled.
