  • oh shit - you actually poach in the kettle?!

  • Yeah man, just heat the water up to temp, then carefully lower the eggs into the kettle with a spoon (careful not to break the shell). Then go back to work for 45 minutes, then eat lunch ;)

    That kettle keeps things roughly the right temperature (via integrated PID I think).

  • Hawksmoor Bar, all their ox cheek things are still great but the chicken burger was forgettable

  • Assorted Dozen Krispy Kreme, birthday treat, epic! You can keep the apple and cinnamon one though, disgusting, tastes like belm

  • Dark chocolate digestive peanut butter sandwiches,
    at races breakfast was custard tinned peaches and crushed chocolate hobnobs

  • At the Krispy Kreme bakery stores you can get them off the line with no icing. Then you can pour your own granulated sugar on them, or not. Either way, totally good.

    And god I wish there was a racist chicken here in Berlin. Maybe they will open one in SF whenever I move back.

    So I went to the Mediterranean store near my house and found the small fish and vine leaves.

    I gutted and boned them but left the heads on. Then wrapped them in the vine leaves.

    Then I grilled them in a grill pan for not too long:

    Then I made the chraimeh sauce. Roughly this sauce: http://elrascooking.blogspot.de/2013/08/hraime-chraimeh-fish-cooked-in-red-hot.html (I didn't blend it though). And put the fish on top of it.

    The result was good except I think the fish could have cooked a little longer maybe on slightly lower heat. I was spooked by the smokeyness of my apartment. Also, clearly I need to work on my presentation in that last photo.

    I found this in the store. It would be funny if that was an impulse buy for someone.

    Also they had Sagres beer in handy 1L bottles. Euro 40oz I guess. (weren't we talking about Sagres a few pages back?)

  • You guys are gonna die eating that shit.

    Wanted to make myself a little smoothie. Added 1 orange, 2 bananas, 2 apricots, 250g frozen blue berries and half a frozen pineapple in little cubes to the blender. Got some icy smoothie now which I have to eat with a spoon. Not too keen on ice, but it tastes great. Blender is fucked up though, definitely not made for frozen stuff :/
