Will go. Anyone want to watch with?

Thinking about heading down, but no spectator info on the site yet. Any ideas what the schedule is?

ah dicki I thought your joke was funny. I had to delete the drug joke in my post as I'll be wearing the jersey of quite a large law firm.

no worries, i thought as much !
what time does your race start ? -
• #37
The corporate race starts at 6:30. It's some sort of goofy run-to-your bike and do a lap, then tag out. Weird.

Watched that last year and it was a bit odd. The corporate riders had to run with their bikes for a bit, they had to cross some sort of line before they were allowed to get on.
I think MTB SPD pedals would work better than roadie ones - it's only one lap, so you make up loads of time by being able to actually run and then instaclip, rather than skittering around like a foal on an ice rink in roadie shoes. Bonus points if you can do a CX remount.

Yeah it's a pretty strange set up for a 'race'. As it's barely a km of cycling and a bunch of running either side I'm just going in trainers and flat pedals. Besides I should be out of the saddle mashing it like it's a sprint anyhow.
I'll be practicing my CX remount in the car park over the next two lunch breaks. Imma do it like a boss for all the muddy brethren.

They probably don't want a bunch of nodders, sorry, mamils, sorry, I mean, corporate riders, starting in a big bunch.

Always land on the upper half of your inner thigh. No higher, otherwise it might go horribly wrong.

^ That is outstanding advice.

And try to avoid hitting the saddle with your knee, heap big embarrassment.

dan, i saw this the last few years. every time there's a few that are way over enthusiastic and fall off before and after getting off their bike. it's hilarious

Yeah that is quite funny.
Sometimes the cyclist have to avoid photographers in the road (on the floor) taking pictures...was a little worried one cyclist would clip a snapper and take out the peleton.

macho follow-my-leader cycling, questionable ents value (!), unless there's a crowd of forum-mongers to enjoy jest together!
