I might be up for this if anyone wants to make a team?

Does the £10 per person include getting into cliffhanger?
-
• #12
It does indeed.

If I can figure out a cheap way to get over I might be up for this.

Aren't you busy that weekend Todd?

Due to the low numbers of teams (no great surprise given the Newmarket and Euro tourneys), we're going to run this on just the one court. There should still be plenty of games for everyone, and plenty of stuff for everyone to do in any downtime!
We're also in negotiations with a potential beer sponsor... -

What happened to the golden days of the National Series. Filling UK tournaments was never a problem...

Joe and I are looking for a third player... Dave? NKTShane? Viki? Intensive try-outs will be arranged for 2am on the 21st ;-)
I'm afraid the team name is non-negotiable: Banana Space Rockets. -

Hell yeh! I'll join you, if you can put up with me.
SoYo Polo Co in association with Hungary Like The Wolf, Buster’s Coffee Co. and Bike Rehab presents…
After a couple of years off, we're back! Putting on some polo as part of the Cliff Hanger event (a great big climbing and outdoor pursuits festival).
We are greatly indebted to our headline sponsors, Buster’s Coffee and Bike Rehab.
(If you'd like to provide any further sponsorship, please get in touch!)
This will run on the 21st and 22nd of June (the weekend before the EHBPCs in Italy).
Saturday night R&R will be at the Red Deer, home to a fine selection of beers, whiskies and specially-priced-for-polo-players sandwiches. There may also be a quiz.
Courts:
One court (approx 30m x 18m) with a good surface. There will also be some space on a second court for members of the public to have a little roll around.
Format:
Depends on number and likely skills level of teams, but we definitely have two courts over two days (10.30am - 6pm) and want to particularly encourage those teams who maybe didn’t have much of a shot at qualifying for the Euros.
What we will definitely aim for is giving everyone as many close games as possible, so probably as many Swiss rounds as we can fit in, followed by some sort of elimination to determine final placings. One thing we’re looking into is splitting the seeded teams into two halves, top and bottom, then running two elimination competitions. This would be to make the elimination competitions closer and therefore hopefully more enjoyable for everyone (rather than lower ranked teams being swiftly eliminated by the top seeds).
There will also be Zorbing, kayaking and a beer tent. What’s not to love?
Rules:
We'll adopt the most recent NAH rule set. Start reading up now (even if you’re not planning on playing in our tourney).
Accommodation:
There's only a small number of us playing polo in Sheffield, so whilst we'll do our best to house people, there's a fair chance we'll not be able to accommodate everyone. If you've got any friends in Sheffield, start tapping them up now!
Entry Fees:
£30 per team. No IOUs or foreign currencies.
Teams entered via the registration form:
If there's anyone else out there who doesn't have a team, we're happy to make connections!
