  • Anybody know if a good, big, stabilized bag with an outer of ballistic nylon or with pvc coating or some other waterproof material that is cat-hair resistant? Is it just Ortleib sack-bag? Would prefer something with moar features.

  • just bought a t level charger- really pleased with it, large with out being daft large very comfy on, the one thing im getting to grrips with is there are almost too many adjustable straps, also is there any add on to carry a dlock ( krypto fag)

  • Has anyone bought a Patagonia messenger bag? Thoughts?

  • ^^Do you mean the challenger? I use the loops on the front

  • yep thats the one cheers! didnt notice the loops in that strap across it. cheers, nice bags.

  • Picked up a mission workshop arkiv r6 backpack. First item from them for me. Bit worried it will be heavier than id like but also bit excited to try it out.

  • So this was a hasty impulse buy. First impression is that its not as big as expected : /

Currently have a Ortlieb thats dying, actually its allrdy dead, that im using for work. I dident pay attention when comparing the R6 to the Ortlieb. Knew i needed a bag atleast the same size as the ortlieb and since the ortlieb is listed as 30L and the R6 at 40 i figured it would be perfect. Turns out they measure their bags very differently (surprise). Ortlieb has larger width, height and depth yet the R6 is advertised as a 10L larger bag. Annoying!!! Hopefully thats not a big pile of cash down the drain.

  • Selling my excellent Archies here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread118187.html

  • Just made a stupid GIF of my old bags. The top one is a full Scotchlite number by Catherine Newell.

  • I need a backpack with extra straps so I can transport a frame or a wheel or something on the outside. A laptop sleeve is a plus. Any recomendations?

  • T level infinity? I had a whole bike (wheelset included) in parts strapped to it using nothing but the adjustable straps that are already on the bag. Does have a laptop sleeve as well. Bit expensive, but well worth the money I say.

  • That looks ideal. Thanks a million!

  • Find a courier friend to go with you, you get 10% off from Kinoko... or maybe just ask them nicely. They usually give me 10% off with full price stuff even though I am not a courier... with regards to the T-level, it's worth every penny... I went throught a few backpacks to have settled on this one...

  • Has anyone bought a Patagonia messenger bag? Thoughts?

    Probably too late to answer...
    I have one.
You can't compare it to a real messenger bag (Bagaboo, Mission Worshop, Ynot...) but it's pretty fair.
There is a padded sleeve for laptop.
    The main strap is good.
The buckle system is good (better than Timbuk2) as you can tighten and untighten with one hand.
The second thin strap (to prevent the bag from sliding) is a not so good (too long, attached too low on the main strap).
The bag is a little bit to narrow, I mean it isn't extensible. If you already have a laptop and a A4 notebook inside, you can't store bulky items in the main pocket.
It has some useful pockets for small items.
I would rate it at around 15/20.
It's much better than the North Face bag which (5/20 if you want to use it on a bike) doesn't have de second strap preventing the bag from sliding (only a useless strap around the waist).
I would say it might be better than a Timbuk2, but not so good as a real messenger bag as I already said.
It's one of my favourite bag. I use it in town (off bike) or for small rides.

  • Edit (I didn't find any Edit button)
I forgot to add that the Patagonia messenger bag has a reversible strap (to wear on the right shoulder) what is a quite seldom feature in this range of price bags.
    (I don't work for Patagonia... !)

  • I need a small comfy backpack.
Torn between Chrome welded rucksack and Chrome Sentinel.
What do you guys think ?

  • Welded Rucksack (on price)

  • The Sentinel is on sale and looks like a way better bag overall. The welded looks like it would get pretty uncomfy with no back padding

  • I need a decent backpack for commuting, something roomy with back padding and good straps. The trouble I have is most are too tall, and rub against my helmet when I ride. So dimension wise something not very tall but quite wide. The Freight Rolltop looks very good. Anything else?

  • From what I've heard Freight are the ultimate bags and all the people I know have Messenger Large, yet despite this, I've never seen anyone bag go above their neck.

  • The Sentinel is on sale and looks like a way better bag overall. The welded looks like it would get pretty uncomfy with no back padding

where can i find it for sale online ?

i like the looks of the welded better and it is cheaper. i'm not very worried about back padding as i'm gonna wear the bag for hours daily.
but if i can get the Sentinel for a good price then i rather get it.

  • where can i find it for sale online ?

    in your own link?

  • It is not for sale in the link, i'm guessing that they don't sell it new anymore.

  • What's happened to levrier?

  • Taking a break from bag making due to a fulltime job and 2 small kids :)
